Job Description:
Perform remediation activities, generate equipment and
construction bid specifications and evaluate proposals prior to awarding
contracts. Supervise elevation surveying, waste characterization and
disposal, remediation activities as well as groundwater monitoring and
sampling projects. Review operational data and equipment performance to
develop action plans to optimize systems and monitor remedial systems.
Perform soil and groundwater sampling, air monitoring and remediation
implementation, as well as Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)
activities. Conduct assessments for potential impact to soil and
groundwater, and oversee hole clearance, drilling and other field activities.
Collect, record and analyze field and laboratory data. Estimate budget
for projects. Write reports and prepare certifications for site assessment,
groundwater monitoring and sampling and operation/maintenance. Write project
proposals, establish relationships with clients and coordinate
subcontractors. Conduct Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) oversight and
mitigation compliance guidance for construction projects under the National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). Conduct erosion control,
dust control and storm water pollution prevention monitoring activities as
well as post- construction restoration and revegetation. Responsible for
obtaining permits from public agencies for soil and groundwater
remediation systems, as well as for grading, traffic control, erosion control, storm
water pollution prevention, construction and remediation. Works off
site two days per week (not every week); travels within 30-mile radius
from the office. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering,
Civil Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) as well as 2 years of experience in environmental
remediation engineering including work in hazardous environments. Also
requires demonstrated expertise (DE) performing site assessment using
GPS/GIS data collection and mapping; DE in engineering calculations for
building systems for vapor and groundwater remediation; and DE conducting
required SPCC activities including site inspections and
