Job Description:
Civil Engineer, Master degree or more. Experience : At least 20 years in the Construction of RCC Dams,
preferably with a Contractor and not with a Consultant /
designer. Languages : English or French . Both is a plus . Mission : 1) Has to be resident full time on site 2) Responsible for all technical aspects including finalizing
The APD “Avant Projet Detaille”. Prepared by the Consultant:
Submitting Final design, Calculations and Execution drawings to the
approval of Consultant . 3) Supervising the good Execution of all aspects of the Project
and being responsible of the Complete Laboratory on site and of the
Materials Enginineer. Areas of Expertise : 1) The Dam : The excavation and mostly the bottom of Excavation : Deciding on
the levels, treatment of the bottom of excavation as well as of the
abutments. - The RCC concrete : Responsible for all tests for the
aggregates, developing the mix design and the method of placement
. - Advising about the equipment needed: Central Mixing plant,
Transport and Conveying systems for the Concrete, spreading and
Compacting. 2) The Lake Site : - Studying the geological Survey available and deciding on a
complementary geological Campaign. - Supervising and directing the drilling, injection, anchoring
operations and diaphragm walls . - Lining about half of the lake site with 3 layers ( 10+5+5cm )
of Bituminous Concrete . ( Here extensive, tests are required to ascertain the need for
this waterproofing system or else replacing it by injections as
above ). - For the Dam and the lined Part of the lake: be responsible to
check the design and to implement all drainage systems. 3) Other works include the temporary diversion, drainage
galleries, water outlet and lake drainage structure.
