AVP, Loan Operations
Job Description

Summary:

This position oversees the day-to-day responsibilities in the Loan Operations department providing functional, technical and customer service leadership. This associate will create and update procedures, facilitate training and assist in the compilation and review of data and reports. This position works closely with management and other departments and teams to automate and streamline processing activities, utilizing all available technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and review department / team metrics and reporting. Provide data and information to management.
  • Complete quality assurance functions to ensure the team is operating efficiently and effectively
  • Prepare and update written procedures and resources. Ensure staff is provided and trained on updates and procedural changes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of loan operations activities and system enhancements. Completes maintenance and release testing to ensure the platforms are utilized to create maximum efficiency and usability to team.
  • Responsible for and completes all management responsibilities, including hiring, performance management and training
  • Act as a liaison to the Internal Auditor, Compliance Officer for audit and compliance issues
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements
  • Identify operational control points and weaknesses
  • Develop an advanced understanding of the utilization of available technology and document process flows
  • Perform other duties and special projects as necessary

    Qualifications:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven experience working in a fast paced, high volume, customer-centric environment
    • Strong time management and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate critical thinking
    • Proficient in the use of technology including loan origination and core banking systems
    • Detail oriented and well organized
    • Ability to work both independently as self-starter and in a collaborative team environment
    • Motivated and open to change

      Education and/or Experience:
      • High School Diploma or equivalent required
      • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of banking or financial services industry experience required or Bachelor's or Associate's Degree with equivalent experience
      • Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to all loan types
      • Advanced knowledge of loan documents
      • Knowledge of lending products, including residential, commercial, and consumer.
      • Prior leadership experience preferred

        Computer and Software Skills:
        • Proficient with using Microsoft Office products
        • Familiar with Google-based products (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.) preferred
        • Experience with Salesforce, nCino, or FIS Bankway is a plus
