wellness. Position SummaryThe CRE Originator is responsible for the
sourcing, securing, developing, and retaining profitable
relationships. Ensures credit facilities are properly structured,
priced and documented according to the collateral's risk. USE is
currently originating CRE loans throughout California for various
CRE properties including value add and stabilized multifamily,
retail, SNNN, office, medical office, self-storage, industrial and
hospitality. This position reports to the CRE
Manager.Responsibilities Find new business opportunities to sell
the Credit Union's CRE products and services.Maintains and grows
current relationships by presenting new lending opportunities to
existing clients.Structures loans based on collateral risk and
Credit Union's cost of capital. Assigns appropriate loan terms
including interest rates, rate terms, origination fees, prepayment
penalties, and recourse.Sizes potential loans and prepares term
sheets.Will interact with large and small relationships.Serves as
the primary contact with prospects.Obtains financial statements,
tax returns, and other credit information from prospects that
Underwriting requires.Participates in analysis of pertinent credit
information and/or credit checks.Helps present credit memos at loan
committee meetings.Conducts interviews with applicants to
thoroughly understand current and prospective customer's needs and
their financial situation.Visits applicants at their place of
business to verify and better assess their current situation and
future needs.Works with outside legal and borrower in the review
and negotiation of loan documents.Stays informed on developing
trends in the market which may impact credit quality.Prepares
weekly production reports.Maintains assigned annual goals for
portfolio growth and new business development.Throughout the entire
originating and closing process, provide borrowers with exceptional
customer service to ensure repeat clients.Perform relationship and
loan level financial analysis.Provides proactive loan status
updates and communicates to its members, participating credit
unions, or other interested parties in resolving discrepancies and
problems to minimize turn time while thoroughly documenting credit
requests.Plan and execute multiple projects along with ongoing
initiatives while balancing department and organizational demands
of resources.Participate in the updating of policies, procedures
and guidelines. Lead responses and implementation of changes.Assist
in regulatory examinations and internal audits, ensure CRE
origination procedures follow NCUA, DFPI, and internal
guidelines.Use personal judgement from skill and experience to
recommend changes to programsDeliver timely and accurate
information for decision making.Adhere to company policy and
procedure, complete annual compliance training, comply with
business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial
to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance
and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit
union.Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws such as the Bank
Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and
procedures including accurate Member/Customer Identification
Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and
reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.Perform other
duties as assigned. Qualifications 5 years minimum prior relevant
experienceAdvanced knowledge of various types of CRE loans and
structuring bridge and perm CRE loans.Advanced credit skills in
underwriting, financial modeling, valuations and adherence to
policy.Requires excellent customer service, relationship,
organizational, analytical and creative problem solving
skills.Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Real
Estate or related field required; equivalent combination of
education and experience is acceptable with an associate degree in
a related field.Must have strong interpersonal and communication
skills (both verbal and written). Critical thinking skills
required. Must be analytical, organized and be creatively-minded
(thinking 'outside the box'). Skills of persuasion are necessary
for this role. Must be able to communicate effectively throughout
the organization. Enables a culture of creativity, collaboration,
innovation, speed and excellence. Ability to work with highly
confidential information in a discretionary manner.Ability to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Draw upon experience in analyzing financial data and interpreting
risk. Provide a narrative summary of research, evidencing of
reports, character of risks and mitigates, financial reviews and
identify any additional concerns with integrity.To perform this
job, the employee must possess applicable technology skills and
demonstrated expertise. Ability to use Microsoft Office application
products, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly.
Requires intermediate knowledge of computer network and database
use. Very strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
Familiarity with relevant software, such as Microsoft Office Suite
and other core commercial loan platforms for managing financial
spreads, loan, periodic reviews, and servicing. Valid California
driver's license is required. Additional Commercial Loan
Certificates welcome.To perform this job, the employee must possess
strong interpersonal skills, good phone and e-mail etiquette, a
professional presentation, and a high degree of personal
initiative. Must have commitment to quality, time management skills
and have a thorough approach to job responsibilities. Ability to
work effectively within a team or as an individual. Ability to
perform job duties with minimal supervision. Must be able to work
typical operational hours and work occasional nights and/or
weekends. Must be able to fly to attend meetings as needed. Due to
the nature of the job responsibilities the employee must have a
valid driver's license and be able to travel as necessary.
Overnight travel may be required. Must have reliable
transportation. Ability to travel when necessary to meet with
members or related business relationships with credit
