Administrative, TemporaryPosition SummarySDSU receives over 68,500
first-time freshmen applications to process and determine
eligibility. The Administrative Support Coordinator I is
responsible for determining CSU admissions eligibility for
first-time freshman applicants. Reviews applications and high
school transcripts for admission and determines CSU eligibility
index using high school GPA and SAT/ACT test scores. Reviews
applicants college preparatory courses completed in high school to
determine minimum courses required by CSU admissions policy are
completed. Reviews correspondence, supplemental information, and
high school transcripts to determine admission eligibility. Reviews
applications that require special processing for groups such as:
International Students, Educational Opportunity Program, Employee
Fee Waiver, Distance Learning and new pilot programs. Determines
residency status for admissions eligibility and fee purposes for
all undergraduate applicants. Address questions from applicants,
parents and high school counselors related to established admission
requirements and/or residency requirements.The incumbent must have
the ability to gain comprehensive knowledge of CSU and University
regulations, policies and procedures for determining admissions
eligibility and residency status for undergraduate applicants.
Independent judgment and problem solving skills are required to
effectively perform the job duties. The function of the Admissions
Eligibility Unit is to perform various tasks related to the goals
of the University Community. 1) Review admission applications and
academic records using a significant level of independent judgment
to determine the CSU minimum eligibility for first-time freshmen
applicants. 2) Apply a high level of independent judgment and
maintain a comprehensive knowledge of State of California residency
requirements and working knowledge of US Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USC IS) laws to determine residency status
for undergraduate applicants. 3) Provide customer service and
assistance to applicants, parents, faculty and staff by mail,
e-mail, or telephone regarding admissions requirements and when
appropriate make referrals to other campus departments. 4) Process
undergraduate applications for admission to the University to
include special programs such as Educational Opportunity Program
(EOP), compact conditional admission programs, impacted majors,
over 60-program, employee fee waiver, external degree, distance
learning. 5) Perform data entry on a mainframe computer system.For

a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position
anticipated to end on or before February 14, 2022, with the
possibility of reappointment and/or permanency. This position is
designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime
compensation.Education and ExperienceEntry to this classification
requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard
office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to
understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge
of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to
clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may
require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic
arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support
technology systems and software packages is also a
prerequisite.These qualifications would normally be obtained
through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or
their equivalents combined with several years of related office
work experience.Preferred Qualifications Comprehensive knowledge of
state regulations, policies and procedures of the California State
University system.Experience working in a medium to large
university setting.One year professional experience reviewing
applications for admission.One year professional experience
reviewing academic transcripts for admission to a university or
program.A high level of independent judgment and problem solving
skills are necessary to effectively perform the job
dutiesCompensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment not
expected to exceed $3,267 per month. CSU Classification Salary
Range: $3,064 - $5,148 per month. Salary placement is determined by
the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings
to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's
