ABOUT THE ROLEThis role is primarily responsible for supporting the Marketing Department with administrative duties and coordination for client requests and campaigns for the franchise system. This role helps execute strategic marketing tactics by organizing and facilitating department efforts, and provides customer services support for franchisee requests. This role works alongside other marketing roles and collaborates with other departments and vendors on projects to support retail and commercial brand marketing efforts.
Essential Functions:

  • Works in-person, full time at the San Diego office with strong attendance and punctuality (this is NOT a remote position)
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets and department documents with accuracy.
  • Coordinates requests for Direct Mail Marketing for franchise locations.
  • Builds email marketing in email platforms (e.g. Constant Contact, MailChimp, SalesForce, etc)
  • Creates marketing decks/PowerPoints for department, gathers data and research, and synthesizes information for presentations
  • Updates training materials for department training and franchisee training.
  • Manages incoming calls and emails from franchisees and vendors for the department.
  • Executes new store marketing programs.
  • Maintains inventory, orders supplies and promotional products.
  • Facilitates franchisee registrations for marketing programs available through the department.
  • Conducts research of internal historical documentation, industry trends, and other research needs for the department.
  • Ensures marketing projects and efforts are compliant with details in contracts and franchise agreements.
  • Creates executive summaries for research and assigned projects.
  • Coordinates campaign production and shipping of marketing materials to franchise locations.
  • Processes invoices, payments, and billing with coding for marketing; works closely with accounting to ensure payments are processed and coded to the proper accounts/budgets.
  • Writes with strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation for internal and external marketing communications.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and able to give presentations if necessary.
  • Helps improve department tools like training materials, marketing programs/technologies, marketing dashboards, and reports to increase efficiency and improve communications.
  • Packs campaign materials and receives shipments (small and large) for the department.

Able to take detailed and accurate notes during and after conversations and meetings, and updated department communications and files accordingly. Able to adjust communication style to strengthen relationships, adapt written and verbal communication with accuracy of content, and offer solutions to solve problems. Respectfully assertive and open-minded, Comfortable offering suggestions and challenging ideas respectfully, and seeks suggestions and feedback to improve upon ideas. Empathetic and helpful with a desire to understand others, navigate challenging discussions, collaborate on projects, and explore ideas/solutions without ego. Strong time management able to multi-task and complete tasks to meet project deadlines.Self-starter and knowledge seeker who is resourceful, enjoys learning, and takes initiative.     Requirements:
    • 2+ years work experience required
    • Marketing, Hospitality, Retail, or Customer Service experience strongly preferred
    • Proficient with Microsoft or similar programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills and teamwork capabilities
    • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to uncover and resolve issues
    • Ability to simultaneously work on deliverables and manage project timelines
    • Education: Some college, college degree or technical training in Business, Communications, Marketing, Media, Advertising, Operations, Journalism, or Liberal Arts is ideal; or comparable experience
    • Able to lift 50 pounds.
    • Has reliable transportationsome driving may be required to drop off shipments or run errands.Location: This is a full-time role on-site at the San Diego corporate officeTHIS IS NOT A REMOTE OR HYBRID POSITION. Some travel may be required for this role.
