Transformation service line encourages firm innovation by putting
the power of new and emerging technology into the hands of each
Grant Thornton professional to solve business problems and needs of
our clients and our internal colleagues. Within Enterprise
Transformation, the Digital Experience team manages the channel
strategy, client and people experience, and benefits realization
for technology solutions. We are seeking a talented technical
writer to develop documentation for commercial and internal
software releases. In this role, youll work with internal resources
including product management, external developers, marketing and
communications to gather and write technical information for varied
external and internal audiences. You will also produce learning
materials such as quick start cards, user guides, infographics and
training video scripts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications.
- Produce and edit, using multiple mediums, a variety of content,
such as articles, memoranda, user guides, infographics, and
learning materials such as quick start cards and video
scripts.
- Proactively and regularly provide updates on communication
projects to leadership team and other key stakeholders.
- Develop internal communications for a cross-departmental
audience.
- Own the end-to-end documentation creation process, with a focus
on continuous process improvement.
- Prioritize and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced,
changing environment.
- Develop highly technical documentation for various regulatory
and standards (i.e., ISO) bodies.
- Possess a positive attitude, willingness to jump in and tackle
new challenges, and patience in reconciling multiple reviewers
feedback.
- Build relationships with internal constituents to leverage
their subject matter expertise, including Product Management,
Enterprise Architecture, UI/UX Design, Business Analysis, IT
Operations, Risk & Compliance, InfoSec, Marketing & Sales, Legal,
Independence, National Communications, and ET Transformation
leaders and teammates.
- Guide, as needed, translators for foreign language localization
of user guides, installation guides, software requirements lists
and UI.
- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- 5+ years technical writing experience, including documentation
for web-based software.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field such as
computer science or technical communications or a focus on English,
writing, or communications.
- Portfolio of work and/or writing samples.
- Experience in a medium- to large-sized public accounting firm
or other regulated and/or professional services industry
desired.
- Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize
and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment.
- Learning/instructional design experience a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Visio, Word,
Excel, and Project).
- Familiarity with the Agile Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC) and Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Azure DevOps (ADO) experience a plus.
- Familiarity with the Associated Press Manual of Style a plus.
The base salary range for this position in the firms Bellevue, WA,
Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, and New York City(Manhattan)
offices only is between $89,300 and $148,900 per year. The base
salary range for this position in the firms San Francisco, CA and
San Jose, CA offices only is between $95,100 and $158,600 per year.
