Space Components and Strategic Businesses Unit is seeking a Process
Improvement Analyst (Level 3/4) to join our Engineering team. This
position will be based in San Diego, CA, but may be located at
other major site locations in Devens, MA, Oxnard, CA, or Goleta,
CA.OverviewThe Principal Process Improvement Analyst defines,
designs and implements continuous improvement programs to ensure
programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across the
organization. This role will be responsible for defining
improvement projects aligned with business strategies as well as
analyzing improvement programs and potential results. Supporting
engineering operations, this individual facilitates and coaches
improvement teams, establishes and maintains performance metrics to
measure program success, and installs process excellence tools for
program governance, technical product creation, project reviews,
communications , and training. The ideal candidate will demonstrate
proficiency in the following areas:
- Ability to lead cross functional teams in Kaizen events and
apply LEAN / Six-Sigma principles.
- Must have an understanding of LEAN principles, concepts,
practices, and standards and their practical application.
- Ability to d evelop new techniques and applications based on
professional principles and theories.
- A bility to carefully analyze complex problems and develop
innovative solutions.
- Broad knowledge of industry practices in continuous
improvement.
- Ensures solutions are consistent with organization
objectives.
- Must be able to work independently and have strong
organizational skills.
- Effectively communicate and clearly present technical
approaches and findings. This position may be filled as a Principal
Process Improvement Analyst (Level 3) or a Sr. Principal Process
Improvement Analyst (Level 3) depending upon candidate education,
experience and qualifications. Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 6+ years of
engineering process development and/or project management
experience OR Master's Degree with 4+ years experience
- Training and/or certification in Lean/Six Sigma
- Minimum 2 years leading Lean Kaizen events
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint, Project)
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance Basic Qualifications for
a Level 4:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 10+ years
of engineering process development and/or project management
experience OR Master's Degree with 8+ years experience
- Training and/or certification in Lean/Six Sigma
- Minimum 4 years leading Lean Kaizen events
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint, Project)
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance Preferred
Qualifications:
- Industrial Engineering degree with focused studies in Lean /
Six Sigma.
- Comfort and experience presenting to a variety of audiences,
including senior leadership as well as other internal and external
stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively work with Senior Management Team
(SMT).
- Experience with, and knowledge of hardware design and
manufacturing processes for space & aerospace applications
- Experience with PLM / PDM softwareThis position reports to San
Diego, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the
additional 3 locations listed above. Salary Range: $86,300 USD -
$129,500 USD Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,600 USD Employees
may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
