Position overview

Position title: Spine Surgery Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $82,200-$235,400. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description



The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (http://ortho.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is recruiting for Orthopaedic Surgery Spine Surgeons.



The selected candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including call coverage responsibilities, teaching, and research at our various UC San Diego Health locations.



The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications



Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent or MD/PhD in health-related fields and completed a U.S.-accredited residency training program in Orthopaedic Surgery. Candidates must also be American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified or eligible and have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Candidates must have completed fellowship training in Spine Surgery by the appointment start date.



Preferred qualifications

Candidates with five years of clinical experience and a strong interest in MIS surgery are preferred. Candidates with demonstrated evidence of scholarly contributions in clinical, translational, and/or basic research are also preferred.
