Position description
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San
Diego (https://pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic
excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student
body. We are currently seeking new clinical faculty in General
Pediatrics to join our Division of Academic General Pediatrics.
The Division has clinical practices in multiple locations,
including a burgeoning partnership with a large federally qualified
health center system that serves many communities in San Diego. We
provide outpatient medical care for infants, children, adolescents,
and young adults aged from birth to 21 years. Our team is comprised
of exceptional faculty and staff committed to providing
evidence-based clinical care and serves as the main outpatient
pediatric teaching site for UCSD medical students and pediatric
residents. The Division also has a clinic focused on caring for
medically fragile patients as well as visits for breastfeeding
support, for children traveling to developing countries, and
immigrant children.
The successful candidates will play a crucial role in the
well-being and development of infants, children, and adolescents in
our community. The incumbents will contribute to providing quality
healthcare and promoting a lifetime of good health for our young
patients. They will also be expected to support the mission of
delivering high-quality care, teaching, and scholarly activities
while promoting an environment that supports diversity, equity, and
inclusivity among faculty, students, and staff.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate,
or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background
and experience.
