Eaton's Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, and Oil & Gas Division is currently seeking a Custom Products and Seismic Engineering Supervisor to join our team. This position is based remotely in California or at our Highland, Illinois or Syracuse, NY location.

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for leading, planning and executing custom engineering projects. The incumbent will ensure deadlines are met to support our customers with accurate results within financial guidelines. Additional responsibilities include NPD and VA/VE project involvement, and sustaining engineering efforts. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to lead projects from start to finish and engage the team to ensure goals are achieved. The candidate will oversee the project quotation and the quality control process throughout the life cycle of the projects. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in setting goals, metrics, monitoring progress and driving continual improvements. The candidate will define and help acquire resources by coordinating the efforts of their team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. This role will provide the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other business areas including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Operations. This will include participation in technical sales presentations and trainings to customers and being the company representative on industry standards and codes technical committees are among the other duties of this position.

In this function you will:
Lead the custom solutions engineering department and the position's direct reports.
Lead and participate in engineering projects and proposals for customers from receipt of purchase order through timely completion of project documentation
Manage projects requiring PE stamps (manage 3rd party structural engineers and interface with customers to manage project questions and required data/drawings)
Perform engineering calculations and design application evaluations per industry codes and standards
Review designs ensure compliance to standards and coordinate PE stamps as appropriate for engineering projects.
Create and maintain project tracking tools, help set metrics and goals, ensure timely completion
Implement lean principles to improve processes and eliminate waste
Involved in NPD teams throughout the Pro Launch and MGPP processes
Participate in, gather, and analyze VOC input and feedback to ensure services and products are meeting customer expectations
Support the Sales and Marketing teams with technical presentations and trainings to internal & external customers
Represent Eaton's Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, Oil & Gas Business on industry standards and code technical committees

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with structural focus
5+ years of relevant work experience
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within California or within a 50-mile radius of Highland, IL or Syracuse, NY will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications: CAD design (SolidWorks software)
SAP/Business Warehouse knowledge
Experienced with FEA
Familiarity with designing for manufacturability in a product customization environment
Structural engineering design (RISA software) for stress analysis and compliance requirements
Knowledge of:
Seismic and civil/structural engineering
requirements in IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, ASME and NFPA 13 codes and standards
Pipe, mechanical, thermal, seismic, and general stress analysis
Pipes, pumps, turbines, valves, fittings, and their supports
Various types of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection equipment
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment with understanding of materials and processes.
