With our robust offering of educational and career development opportunities, your chances to grow are limitless.BAE Systems is looking for Cloud Operational Support Engineers to join the Mobility Air Force Flight Planning Services (MAFPS) team in San Diego, CA and Fairview Heights, IL. These engineers are part of a group whose mission is to provide 24/7 operational support of the MAFPS software hosted on the USAF's Cloud One and respond to all support requests and work with the customer, the Cloud One provider, external data providers and internal development teams to drive issues to resolution.MAFPS incorporates mission, platform, navigation, airspace, weather and other aeronautical data from authoritative sources to generate and visualize 4-D optimized flight plans that adhere to complex global airspace business rules to support the USAF's Air Mobility Command's (AMC) 618th Air Operations Center (AOC) daily worldwide airspace operations. MAFPS is integrated within the US Air Force network and operates 24/7/365. This position is located in San Diego, CA with infrequent travel potentially required to the MAFPS primary customer site at Scott AFB, IL. The qualified applicant may be assigned to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift to support round the clock customer operations.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Monitor health, availability and performance of individual MAFPS applications hosted in the Cloud One environmentManage the deployment of scheduled and unscheduled application updatesMonitor interfaces to external services and source data providersCollaborate with Cloud One support staff and MAFPS developers to diagnose and resolve issues as neededEnter, disposition and track trouble tickets against MAFPS applications, internal/external services and third-party providersActively participate in and document incident response and root-cause analysis.Closely work with the DevSecOps teams to support development, deployment and maintenance of containerized applications and automate orchestration.* Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status *Required Education, Experience, & SkillsBA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experienceUS Citizenship with the ability to obtain an active Secret clearanceExperience monitoring and maintaining Cloud infrastructuresSystem Administration experience with complex systemsSystem Administration experience with both Windows and Linux servers, and Postgres database administrationExperience troubleshooting issues and writing clear and concise trouble ticketsDoD 8570 compliant, with a minimum of CompTIA Security+Strong oral and written communication skillsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills2+ years' relevant work experienceHold an active Secret security clearanceAWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer and/or SysOps Administrator certifications a plusFamiliarity with USAF Cloud One operationsResourceful problem solverExperience with ServiceNow, Remedy or similar toolsSelf-starter and able to work with limited supervisionProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsAbout BAE Systems Intelligence & SecurityBAE Systems, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, an international defense, aerospace and security company which delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.
