Planning and Controls - Mission Engineer Intern - Summer 2023 Shield AI's mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems. Read on below to learn more about this unique internship! - The Planning and Controls (PAC) team is an agile group of engineers focused on researching and developing state-of-the-art algorithms that drive intelligent and confidence-inspiring flight behaviors while accounting for an uncertain and dynamic world. As a member of PAC Mission, you will work on task planning both for single robots as well as teams of robots. You will develop cutting edge algorithms while working with a close-knit team from diverse backgrounds. Your focus will primarily be on architecting and implementing coordination of robot teams and supporting cross-platform core planning capabilities. -This is an exciting and innovative opportunity for an engineer to gain experience and insight into an emerging AI space! What you'll do:

• Work on real projects doing meaningful and interesting work, with a mentor to guide you -
• Have a great learning experience with a humble, inspiring team -
• Research, design, and implement state of the art teaming algorithms for real time autonomous systems -
• Develop tools for rapid prototypes, simulation, visualization, etc. -
• Write optimized, reliable software in C++
• Leverage robust software integration techniques to see your contributions implement and improve behaviors in fully autonomous systems -
• See your contributions enable actual robots that will be fielded in some of the most dangerous places in the world to execute missions that will save lives -Required qualifications:
  • Must be a rising Senior, rising Master's or PhD graduate, preparing to graduate Spring 2024
  • You have a passion for solving complex problems in robotics -
  • You are a team player with strong communication skills -
