DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for
an Sr Principal Product EO/IR Engineer to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals at our Rancho Bernardo, CA location.
This position requires a Program Security Clearance to be obtained
prior to starting in the role. The selected engineer will perform
as a member of an interdisciplinary team of engineers.The selected
candidate will coordinate the engineering activities associated
with an electro-optical/infrared sensor system capability. This
role will report directly to the Payload Sensors Technical Lead.The
successful candidate must have a background in the concepts and
implementation of EO/IR system and image processing. This position
will be required to support program planning, sensor operational
requirements, system verification, Supplier management, and to
support program milestone planning, reviews, and execution. The
position is expected to provide leadership for verification
materials, new SW implementations, updates for IETMs, ICDs,
Specifications and coordinating with system test team
activities.Candidate will contribute to high-visible activities and
have opportunities to periodically demonstrate capabilities to high
value customers. Some travel will be required.Basic
Qualifications:9 Years with Bachelors; 7 Years with Masters; 4
Years with PhD.Active DoD Top Secret clearance or DoE equivalent
with ability to obtain SAR/SAP access (Active Top Secret or DoE
equivalent is required to be considered for this role).Availability
of 25% regional travel.Excellent presentation and computer skills
including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Preferred
Qualifications:Substantial experience working with a team across
the following disciplines: requirements development, concept of
operations, operational analysis, air vehicle design, mission
systems, manufacturing, and operations.A degree in
Electrical/Systems/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or
Physics.Experience working with DoD Customer counterparts, building
strong relationships and clear requirements.Salary Range: $129,700
USD - $194,500 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
