Description:Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. -With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits' products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Position Summary:
The Sr. Principal RF Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing high performance MMICs such as LNA, PA, driver amplifiers, etc., capable of broadband operations from 10s of MHz to 10s of GHz for use in the Aerospace and Defense, Test Instrumentation and Multi-Market industries. - The key goals of this position are to work with a focused team to design best-in-class MMICs with quality and time-to-market. - The Sr. Principal Design Engineer is accountable for the design of MMICs from conception through production, meeting deadlines and resolving performance issues along the way.
Salary Range: -$165,800 - $248,800 per year

Job Function:


  • Design & develop broadband MMICs based on marketing inputs and customer requirements
  • Asses various foundry and process options for given design task(s)
  • Analyze and validate designs through extensive simulations (EM, linear, non-linear, stability, Monte Carlo etc.)
  • Perform thorough peer review of designs to help team minimize defects
  • Verify performance of MMICs by hands-on RF testing of prototypes
  • Back-fit (through revised simulations and/or models) any abnormal/unexpected behavior in performance
  • Modify existing designs to improve performance, quality, manufacturability, production yields, etc.
  • Perform design reviews at various stages of the product development
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and archive design files for all products by working with internal documentation control systems and guidelines
  • Support product release activities - production test fixture design, production test offset review, datasheet review, qualification, application notes
  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging RF engineering technologies and explore opportunities to add value and contributions to company goals.
  • Help recruit and mentor junior engineers as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree + 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field OR
    • Master's Degree + 13 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field OR
    • PhD + 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field
    • 10+ years of experience in Test Engineering of RF power products and/or subsystems
    • Strong understanding of RF and Microwave test equipment such as PNA-X, Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Meters, etc.
    • ADS experience is required. - Ansys HFSS experience is a strong plus
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Result-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to achieve through both collaboration and independent work
    • Demonstrated ability to interact, deliver results and be accountable to senior management
