looking for someone to lead accessibility engineering across the
design system.As part of the design system team, you'll build
usable, scalable, best-in-class componentsand a
top-of-the-linecharting libraryto power ServiceNow's new UI
platform. We're serious about user experience. Our integrated team
of engineers, designers, and product strategists sweat the details

way we create products-for thousands of designers and engineers

- Work with fellow engineers tobuild accessiblewebcomponents;
test componentsin different modalities (mouse, keyboard, screen
readers); anddebugtrickyaccessibilityissues
- Work closely with an accessibility-focused designer to
establish accessible patterns to be used in the design system and
across productteams
- Scope and prioritizeaccessibility work in collaboration with
PM, design, andQE
- Workwith the user research teamand external customersto test
new accessibility features and understand our users'
accessibilityneeds
- Support colleagues across the product org with accessibility
questions-e.g.content writers, app developers, UX designers
- As astaffengineer,you'llset the tone for our team and
helpmentoryour teammates.You'llhave ownership
overaccessibilitywithin the design system, and influence over the
direction of accessibility in the entire productorgQualificationsTo
be successful in this role you have:
- Passion foraccessibilityand a broad understanding ofinclusive
software
- Understanding of the unique challenges of building accessible
web components
- Understanding of accessible design and accessibility
testing
- Knowledge of WAI-ARIA, WCAG, and HTML5 accessibility practices
- Interest inJavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability,
and componentization
- Experiencebuilding accessiblecomponentsystemswithJavaScript
librarieslikeReact, Vue, Svelte,LitElement, Stencil,etc.
- Experiencecreatingaccessibledatavisualizations
- 6+ years offront-endexperience designing & implementing highly
interactive user interfaces for high volume webapplications
- Exceptional debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or a related
discipline, or equivalent experienceCA21FD21For positions in
California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of
$136,800 - $239,400, plus equity (when applicable),
variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions
generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive
compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a
guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on
factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work
location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending
accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching
donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs
(subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the
geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to
change based on work location. For individuals who will be working
in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located
