IT Support Engineer

San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo)

Join the IT Support team to design, analyze, evaluate, implement and maintain complex end-user computing solutions and infrastructure. This person will be responsible for the implementation of new systems, upgrades and modifications, including planning, testing, coordinating and scheduling.

Responsibilities:


  • Research new technologies and conducting proof-of-concept testing
  • Minimize client service interruptions through early identification and resolution of problems
  • Participate in change advisory board (CAB) and scheduling changes to Enterprise environment
  • Provide L3 expertise, troubleshooting, and resolution on escalated incidents and problems from IT Support, ensuring minimum MTTR, providing problem analysis (RCA), issue resolution in a timely manner while meeting resolution service levels
  • Participate in cross-functional projects in support of end-user productivity and end-user computing security
  • Maintain endpoint patch management and respond to endpoint security compromises and zero-day attacks in a timely manner as applicable to the Mac environment
  • Review supported applications on a regular basis to ensure they are patched and secure
  • Respond to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem, troubleshoot as required, document/update existing documents/KB articles as necessary
  • Participate in standardization efforts to ensure IT Support can take advantage of repeatable processes to support the environment
  • Participate in knowledge transfer with members within the team to elevate IT Mac Engineering skill sets and with IT Support for cross-functional training on projects
  • Work on continued improvement and automation opportunities on IT Mac Engineering internal processes
  • Update any solution designs, technical documents, and diagrams of IT Mac Engineering systems
  • Provide hardware and software reports as required
  • Communicate effectively with management, peers, and customers, via all written and verbal communication channels and in face-to-face situations
  • Participate in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Sprint Planning of project work
  • Must be available to respond 24x7 for IT emergencies
  • Some travel may be required

    Qualifications:


    • At least 2 years' experience as a Mac Engineer with deep troubleshooting skills in Active Directory Mac environment enterprise
    • At least 3 years hands-on IT Engineering experience in areas of hardware and software
    • Advanced knowledge & experience with Mac OS hardware and software
    • Advanced knowledge & experience with Apple iOS hardware and software
    • Scripting experience required e.g. Powershell, Bash, Python, Ruby
    • Experience working with Office for Mac

    • Excellent problem-solving and superior customer service skills

    • Experience and knowledge of networking systems and concepts
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, being self-managed is required
    • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills required
    • Experience with Change Control Process, Test Management, Documentation and Testing
    • Must continuously stay and be current on Industry trends, best practice and technology

      Desired qualifications:


      • Expertise/Certification in JAMF administration, profile management, software distribution, and configuration highly desired
      • ACSP (Apple Certified Support Professional) / ACMT (Apple Certified Mac Technician) or equivalent experience
      • MCSE, A+, or Network + Certification or equivalent experience
      • Mobile Device Management for both iOS and Android devices or equivalent experience
      • Bachelors degree or higher in related field or equivalent experience
      • Knowledge & experience with Security platforms desired
      • Proficiency with Windows Server, Ubuntu, and Adobe Creative Cloud highly desired
      • Understanding of ITIL Foundation a plus
