SUMMARY: This position is for a key rolein Maxwell's field based Customer support team. This important position will work closely with several of Maxwell's internalfunctions including, sales, engineering, customer quality etc, providingcustomer support on Maxwell's range of stand alone Ultracapacitors andultracapacitor based energy modules used in engine start stop, recuperativebraking, hybrid drive systems and wind turbine systems. This is a rolewhere "hands-on" issue investigation and problem solving is often required tounderstand the customers concern. Therefore, the successful candidate must havean understanding of electrical systems and be able to travel Worldwide tosupport our customers. The position requires the ability and desire to buildrelationships with Maxwell's key customers and to provide them with world classsupport. This is asenior level role that requires technical understanding of electrical devicesused in energy management (ultracapacitors, batteries etc). It also requires knowledgeof quality methodologies and how to maximize customer satisfaction during issueresolution. Must be able to drive resolution of customer issues through adiverse and geographically extended organization. Previous face to facecustomer experience is essential in this role; prior experience dealing withlarge OEM's is preferred, previous experience of working customer and technicalissues in the field is highly desirable. Customersatisfaction and product quality are two of the most important metrics trackedwithin Maxwell and the successful candidate will be passionate about ensuringthat we continue to drive those metric upwards. This positioncalls for a unique blend of quality and engineering knowledge with a strongcustomer focus. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director CustomerQuality & Test & Validation in San Diego, California. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Act as an interface forEuropean based customers in the areas of wind energy, automotive and heavytransportation to support their requests for documentation, audits, technicalissues * Gather data on customerreported issues, visit onsite as required, be the customer's representativeinto Maxwell and the Maxwell representative to our customer base* Provide and presentregular customer status reports to Maxwell Quality management in San Diego* Provide necessary 8D problemsolving support for customer claims, carry out initial first level analysis, liaisewith internal Maxwell functions to co-ordinate full failure analysis, create 8Dreports for internal review and deliver to customer* Focal point for thecommunication and fulfillment of customer-specific and automotive industryquality requirements e.g. PPAP, audit support, test data etc* Identify and drivecorrective/preventive actions to prevent re-occurrence and increase customersatisfaction* Provide a supervisoryrole to failure analysis technician based in Rossens, Switzerland on customerreturns KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED:* Minimum3 years' experience working for a supplier/OEM in the wind energy, automotiveor hybrid transportation (buses, trams etc)* Knowledgeof and experience with ISO/TS 16949-specific requirements, such as PPAP, APQP,MSA, FMEA, etc is a strong advantage* SigSigma Black Belt certification or equivalent preferred* MinimumBachelor's degree in, an Engineering discipline required or equivalenttechnical qualification* Experiencein a customer facing technical support role either in quality or an engineeringdiscipline is required, experience working with OEM/large companies preferred* Mustbe business and customer focused, able to balance the needs of Maxwell with theneeds of our customers* Experiencedin technical problem solving, leading technical teams and working in a crossfunctional environment* Excellentcomputer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint* Excellentcommunication skills required at customer and internal level* Excellentpresentation skills* Experienceauditing and/or being audited* Experiencein coordinating, managing and implementing improvement projects* Mustbe a self-starter with strong drive, initiative; and ability to work withlimited supervision* Abilityto travel up to 30% of the time Also, full benefits package, compensation, location andpeople are great too!
