Donor Engagement Manager The Old Globe in San Diego?s beautiful Balboa Park seeks an experienced development professional to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual fund donors up to $5,000. With a budget of $29 million, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe is a recognized leader among American regional theatres. Known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays, the Globe annually produces 16 productions on its three stages, including a Globe for All touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, Major Gifts and Research, the Donor Engagement Manager will manage the multi-channel, integrated annual fund campaign for The Friends of The Old Globe (donors under $3,000), identifying prospects for increased giving, as well work with a portfolio of donors of up to $5,000. We seek a motivated, positive, and engaging individual with a minimum of three years of development experience, preferably in an arts and culture organization. The successful candidate will be an outstanding verbal and written communicator, have an analytical mindset, be highly organized, a creative thinker, and enjoy creating relationships with donors of all giving levels. Knowledge of donor relationship software vital; experience with Tessitura a plus. Must be able to pass applicable background check. Must have a valid driver?s license and access to a vehicle for business use. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k). The qualified candidate must be a highly-organized self-starter who is able to collaborate to meet a demanding and exciting production schedule. The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of lighting and video/projections for more than 16 productions and special events each year in three venues. Responsibilities include: creating and managing budgets; supervising and supporting department staff, three Master Electricians, and over-hire electricians; working with and advising designers to meet creative and budget goals; managing the execution of the design; and establishing high expectations for safe work practices. A high level of proficiency with Vectorworks and Lightwright is required, additional skill with AutoCAD and Microsoft office suite is preferred. Qualified applicants should have an excellent understanding of the design process and deep practical knowledge of lighting systems and effects, video, and electrical systems. Five years progressive experience in theatrical lighting management is required. Union house experience is desired. Position is available mid-February. The Old Globe Theatre seeks an Assistant Lighting Director for a full-time, benefited position. The Assistant Lighting Director will assist the Lighting Director and work with the master electricians to ensure that all lighting and video needs are met for an exciting and demanding production schedule including Broadway-bound musicals, classics and new works. The Assistant Lighting Director must have a proven understanding of a lighting department?s role in all phases of the production process for theatre and possess working knowledge of lighting design and technology. Responsibilities include interdepartmental collaboration, inventory, file and archive management, lighting/projection design review, designing or building advanced electrical or special effects projects, hang card preparation, staff supervision, attendance in rehearsals/meetings, and maintaining department needs and work areas. Proficiency with Vectorworks and Lightwright is required; other computer or networking skills are a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational and time management skills, as well as a focused work ethic and professional demeanor are essential. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience assisting or working as a lighting/production supervisor, lighting designer, or master electrician. Application requirements include: minimum of five years theatrical lighting academic or work experience, ability to lift at least 25lbs., comfortable working at heights, valid driver?s license, and flexible schedule including nights and weekends. The Old Globe Theatre seeks qualified applicants for its part-time Lighting Assistant position. The Lighting Assistant is responsible for supporting the lighting department in the coordination of lighting department activities in relation to over 15 productions, multiple special events, and the maintenance of department equipment and work areas year-round. Responsibilities include data entry, paperwork distribution, supplies management, purchasing, and hands-on electrics activities. Applicants should possess excellent organizational skills, high attention-to-detail and a customer service approach to problem solving. The position requires basic knowledge of theatrical terminology and stage lighting practices. The ideal candidate will possess: a minimum of 1-year hands-on experience in theatrical or entertainment lighting, a valid driver?s license, and flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Experience with Lightwright is a plus. Position is currently open and we hope to fill immediately. Position is scheduled for part-time weekly hours averaging under 30 hours per week, 5-10 hour shifts. Pay rate is $19 per hour plus comp ticket benefits.
