Your direct manager will sit in a Phoenix Shared Service Center office.Primary Purpose:The Environmental Specialist role provides the safety, regulatory and compliance safeguard for the management of customer waste materials for the ChemCare line of business. This role requires that the person have training and knowledge of waste regulations.Deliverables:Partnering with and providing support to our Account Managers throughout the account setup process. Throughout the account's full life cycle, the Environmental Specialist will manage the compliance, profile generation and research on the account with the goal to ensure regulatory compliance of all waste streams.Creating a Profile:This role will be responsible for ensuring Univar Solutions can safely manage waste streams for our customers and internal branches, and within the regulations of EPA, State, EPS, DOT, and Univar Solutions compliance and safety policies.He/she will be responsible for entering/ maintaining/ updating all waste stream specific data inside the Profiling Portal.Additionally, this role will partner with the selected vendor's regulatory/approvals department to ensure they have all the required information needed to evaluate the waste stream and ensure they are able to safely, properly manage the waste stream.In this role, you will play an integral role in the selection of the vendor utilized to ultimately recycle, treat or dispose of each waste stream that is managed by Univar Solutions.This role will also evaluate each waste stream and determines the most appropriate treatment/ recycling technology based upon the EPA Hierarchy or preferred treatment methods, and then select the vendor that can provide the most efficient and economical optionProviding technical/regulatory/compliance expertise for our customers, sellers, vendors and transporters.Responsibility for entering/maintaining/updating all waste stream specific data inside the Waste Management Module within SAP, Salesforce and vendor portals.Education/Experience/Training:High School Diploma required.Science-Focused Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred. A mix of education and experience will be considered.Specialized Knowledge/Skills:Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite required.SAP experience preferred.Salesforce expereince preferred.CHMM/CHMP Certification preferred.#LI-MP1Univar Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
