Learn more Director Business Development, Cell Therapy Operating Company: Invetech category: Corporate location: San Diego, California, United States Posting Date: Nov 13th 2020 Job Schedule (FT/PT): Full-time Job Level: Individual Contributor Requisition Number: INV000943 Position Summary: The Business Development Director's key responsibility are driving top line growth for Invetech's Cell Therapy business within the assigned territory. This individual will provide action-oriented vision and leadership enabling the organization to grow revenue through new and existing customer accounts. Success in this role requires maximizing collaboration with Invetech's Cell Therapy teams in San Diego (California, USA), Melbourne (Australia), developing and executing a strategy to both capture new business and grow strategic accounts. Responsibilities:

  • Secure Cell Therapy orders in the assigned territory in line with forecast
  • Develop and execute a sales plan and strategy that maximize market penetration
  • Build an impactful sales funnel from prospecting and existing business partnerships
  • Work closely with the Cell Therapy business unit to unify sales approach and capitalize on relationships and product offering synergies
  • Collaborate with Invetech's management and commercial team to formulate and execute our go-to-market strategy based on understanding of the competitive landscape, Invetech's offering, industry dynamics and market trends
  • Stay fully engaged with economic buyers and influencers throughout the sales process to ensure a high deal win-rate Qualifications:
    • Able to command the respect of and influence internal and external stakeholders across a wide spectrum of functions including technical and commercial; strong leadership presence amongst C-level executives
    • Ability to think strategically and follow through tactically on developing new business; proven leader in complex sales conversion process with strong sense of ownership and accountability
    • Structured, process-based approach to sales with excellent communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task while prioritizing same on a day-to-day basis as events require
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-performance and lean environment with a strong culture of teamwork and continuous improvement Required Skills/Experience:
      • 5+ years successful outside sales and business development experience; selling a combination of consulting services and technical product solutions in biotech, cell and gene therapy markets. A proven track record of rapidly and consistently generating sales revenue and exceeding quotas
      • Extensive exposure to, and success in, a dynamic, growth-oriented business environment; minimum of 10 years of experience post-graduation
      • Demonstrated knowledge relevant to the fields of cell and gene therapy and regenerative medicine. This could include knowledge in some areas such as cellular biology, cell therapy process development, cell manufacturing or cell processing equipment development.
      • Highly organized with ability to deliver as an individual as well as guide and influence a cross-functional team
      • Enthusiastic about taking on challenging opportunities, being a self-starter and self-motivated to get things done
      • Demonstrated ability to close high dollar deals with long sales cycles, multiple decision makers and complex requirements
      • Extensive network of senior-level contacts across the regenerative medicine industry Desired Skills/Experience:
        • History of selling professional services and/or complex technical product solutions
        • Sales channel management experience in defining go-to-market strategy in emerging markets
        • Broad business skills including contract negotiation, business case modelling and strategy Education:
          • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Post graduate degree preferred. Travel:
            • Up to 40% travel domestically, with some international, is required.
