GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY
Thermo Fisher Scientific's Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) supplies innovative solutions for microscopy and microanalysis. We provide SEMs, TEMs, and DualBeam--- FIB-SEMs combined with advanced software suites to take customers from questions to usable data by combining high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis across scales and modes-through the broadest sample types. ---

POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Digital Service Operations Leader is to own and execute the evolving roadmap of digital process improvements, automation and system implementations that are critical to the overall service strategic plan. This role requires an ability to apply a deep understanding of the MSD service business to design and implement end-to-end solutions that drive increasing value for our customers and the company. This is a leadership position that entails program management across the entire service business and significant collaboration with other MSD teams and corporate functions such as IT and technology centers of excellence. This role requires experience running and implementing new technology in end-to-end service operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the roadmap and development of digital service systems, architecture, design, business process and solution implementations.
  • Ensure that project portfolio for digital transformation is business cases driven, and the digital roadmap will produce the expected results to meet the overall strategic long-range plan for service.
  • Act as the program leader to ensure adequate capability, project management and change management are in place. Oversee all sub-projects to execute program. Ensure they are delivered on-time and to specifications.
  • Work closely with the business partners - Field Service, Central Service, Marketing & Innovation - to ensure alignment, planning and funding are in place to meet the needs of the business roadmap.
  • Understand and influence the corporate / center-of-excellence roadmaps that impact service.
  • Function as a thought leader that will participate in critical discussions, drive ideation across all areas of service, stay current with the latest technology trends, and ensure best practices and standards are utilized across all initiatives
  • Demonstrate operational excellence by using a fact-based and data-driven approach to implementing the roadmap. The expectation is to set the standard on using a programmatic approach: Structure, governance, cadence and analytics to drive results.
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum 10 years of service business experience, including technology strategy and solution delivery experience
    • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, improvement and productivity
    • Successful service business transformation through application of new technologies
    • Proven experience in leading large programs that include business process reengineering and implementation in the space of Service Management Systems
    • Experience driving a multi-year transformation roadmap with digital components, aiming at improving customer experiences and business performance.
    • Extensive experience driving results through influence in a global, matrixed environment
    • Extensive project management skills using various methodologies to prepare and execute business plans, including agile methodologies.
    • Must operate with a strong sense of urgency and have the ability to instill that in others
    • BS Required, MS or MBA preferred
    • Travel 20%
