CORE VALUES POSITION OVERVIEW ( v. 1-1-21) An industry expert in branding, marketing, digital marketing, social media, website presence, community outreach and communications (internal and external), the School's first-ever Director of Marketing and Communications (DMC) advances the School's mission, vision, values, programs, brand, and reputation as a leading independent international school offering an exceptional bilingual program. A member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Head of School and participating in Board committees as assigned, the DMC leads the School's effort to develop and implement highly effective branding, marketing and communications strategies. In support of that effort, the DMC brings considerable prior experience and expertise, innovative methods, cutting-edge tools, industry best practices, and awareness of emerging trends and approaches. Strategic objectives articulated to date by the School include building an ever greater sense of closeness, connectedness and community among SDFAS families (and alumni) and between families and the School; increasing buy-in and alignment of the faculty and staff as well-informed supporters of the School's marketing and communications objectives; augmenting interest in the School from prospective and current families that translates into increased enrollment and retention; mobilizing and deploying a high-functioning group of parent association volunteers; and supporting the School's ongoing development (fundraising) efforts. Minimum of a B.A., Master's degree preferred in Marketing/Communications or related field Language expertise. Superior level of English speaking and writing, editing and proofreading skills; bilingual French or second-language French proficiency is an asset though not required; also a "plus" though not required: proficiency of any kind in other languages or life experiences abroad or outside the region of one's upbringing Significant prior experience. Branding, marketing and communications ; digital marketing and social media platforms; website design, construction and maintenance; strategic thinking and project management; successful management of team members; demonstrated skillset collaborating with other department leaders and across the institution's different constituencies Presence (on-site/remote). Hybrid on-campus/off-campus OR all on-campus position; requires on-campus presence as well as highest-performance standard and professionalism when working remotely (if/as permitted by the Head of School) Eligibility. Superior, refined and culturally savvy graduate-level written and verbal expression in English is a fundamental and absolute requirement for this position; bilingual or second-language French is an advantage but not required.         • Act as a passionate and tireless lead ambassador-promoter of the school's mission, vision, core values and identity
        • Develop overall strategy and project management plans, timelines, and metrics as concern implementation, collaborating effectively with and garnering input and critical feedback from, senior leadership team members, board committee members and the faculty and staff (as well as from parents in key leadership roles)
        • Provide expert support, consultation and training to other senior leadership team members, notably to the Director of Enrollment Management, Director of Development and Extracurricular Programs Manager
        • Achieve brand consistency, messaging coordination, and the implementation of a successful external and internal marketing and communications strategy as well as metrics to measure effectiveness--
        • Engage in targeted marketing outreach within the community with an eye toward recruiting and retaining students; promote and showcase programs that enhance the public perception of the school, interest parents to send their children to and remain in the school if already part of the community, and encourage donors to contribute to SDFAS
        • Integrate into strategic thinking and action trends and best practices in the domain of independent school branding, marketing and communications; remain proactively committed to ongoing professional training and development Digital Vision & Execution
          • Develop and implement a cutting-edge digital marketing and communications vision for the School
          • Update website design and content on a regular basis (putting in place an ongoing process for this); ensure website design flow adheres to branding specifications and is conducive to a user-friendly find/view pattern; track and analyze website data (GoogleAnalytics); oversight of an SEO strategy and process
          • Maintain a social media presence that not only establishes and effectively communicates our brand, but help develops connections with and among existing families while at the same time building interest and trust with prospective ones
          • Design and publish Google and other PPC Ads; analyze performance
          • Actively monitor the school's online reputation and react quickly and with a concerted marketing and communications response when needed Streamlined Communications
            • Develop, pilot, implement and measure the chosen strategic approach(es)
            • Produce and design, write, proof, edit, write, disseminate and assess the effectiveness and degree of community satisfaction and readership of the ECHO INFO weekly school and community-wide informational newsletter highlighting all upcoming events and important relevant information
            • Create and implement an efficient and effective process for obtaining needed information from faculty and staff in an ongoing and timely fashion, and support / facilitate faculty and staff information sharing to the greatest degree feasible Conceptualization & Creation of Materials--
              • Create marketing and communications content consistent with SDFAS's overall mission, vision, values and brand messaging
              • Film and edit videos; take and edit photographs, and enact efficient processes for photos and video from the internal and external community to be shared with the DMC on an ongoing basis; select for print, website, newsletters, blogs and electronic communications; maintain well-organized media archives
              • Write and disseminate press releases and radio advertising; pitch the local media to secure media placement
              • Develop collateral materials for major organizational initiatives
              • Design branding materials for educational, fundraising, admissions, enrichment and administrative
              • Assist with the organization and promotion of important school and community events
              • Handle all public relations materials and communications
