Larson Juhl is in search of an HR Director. This role will oversee aspects of the HR function, interface with the executive team and support HR for North America, serving as the HR business partner for the field and corporate staff.

We are looking to add an HR Director to support our 500+ employee US and Canadian populations. Seeking an HR Director with experience leading in a distributed environment with a large hourly workforce. This role will largely focus on leading HR, guiding our warehouse and distribution center managers and corporate leaders with all aspects of Human Resources. The role is largely business facing, guiding all team member employee relations, leading our performance management process, managing compliance risks, training managers, and supporting leaders with hiring, terminations, workers compensation, leave management, COVID tracking and guiding managers on COVID protocols. This role will also support our salaried corporate staff, field sales organization, customer service employees and leadership team. It will oversee one HR Generalist.

The Human Resources team provides support to our 7 branches, developing strong leaders who can manage their teams effectively, utilizing HR to build strong guidelines, and act as strategic advisors. This position focuses on the development and Human Resource practices and objectives to provide an engaged, productive and challenging work environment for Larson Juhl, a company of 500+ US and Canadian employees.

Areas of responsibility include managing recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, talent management and succession, employee relations, HR and policy compliance, HR technology, culture and engagement, and training leaders. It is important that the HR Director has a solid generalist/ HR Business Partner background, with increasing responsibilities and experience in all areas of HR. This is a hands-on, player/coach role. The ideal candidate will enjoy project management and want to make process improvements for the overall benefit of our employees. The position will work within a distributed leadership team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of HR leadership experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience
  • Expertise in employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Experience coaching managers and leaders on team performance, hiring, training, compliance
  • Experience with an employee base of hourly employees
  • Able to function well in a distributed team environment
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management/employees
  • Excellent written communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with, and skilled in change management is a plus
  • Must be a team player and able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Requires strict attention to detail and ability to manage multiple/simultaneous deadlines
  • Must be able to manage/participate in HR projects while effectively supporting a client group
  • Must be able to work under pressure and with attention to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prefer PHR/SPHR certification
    • Experience with, and skilled in talent management, training and development and change management is a plus

      Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Manage daily the HR needs of Larson Juhls' US based employees
      • Provide expert consultation to clients on HR process and policies
      • Serve as single point of contact for managers and leaders
      • Lead/participate in HR projects needed to improve efficacy and employee experience
      • Identify efficiencies and enhancements as needed to resolve transition issues and create efficiencies
      • Ability to effectively manage vendor relationships involved with HR infrastructure
      • Highly focused on providing excellent client services
      • Work collaboratively with existing personnel who manage aspects of HR operations
      • Perform other duties as assigned

        The ideal candidate will have successfully demonstrated HR support in a distributed environment with the ability to identify and facilitate changes to enhance the employee experience. Proven ability to provide employee support that is perceived as value-add and positive. Will also have experience in working collaboratively across all levels of management. Proven ability to participate as part of a team whose focus is on providing excellent customer service to all supervisory management within the organization,
