GCS Readiness Principal Project Manager (Remote) Job Description SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a leader who has a passion for driving strategic direction of Implementation and Service and Support for new products. This position is part of GCS (Global Customer Service) within BD's Medication Management Solutions (MMS) Business Unit. As the Principal Project Manager for GCS Readiness, you will create the Implementation and Support models for new products within MMS and across other BD Business Units. You will drive GCS strategic direction in alignment with the business unit and product platform. You will support the GCS organization by leading readiness programs utilizing project management skills, functional knowledge (e.g. Implementation and Service operations), and business acumen. You will work closely with marketing, medical affairs, contracts, R&D, and implementation teams to ensure the success of these initiatives. The role is a remote position primarily supporting BD's San Diego, CA location. Key Responsibilities Understanding a product concept, develop the implementation and support model including skill sets and key implementation milestones required to successfully support the new product; establish Service costs. Consult with key stakeholders to ensure implementation and support model will scale horizontally and vertically to achieve high product adoption and customer satisfaction. Contribute to the execution of new product development projects from concept through launch according to various project methodologies such as waterfall, agile, critical path, or scrum. Be engaged in product development core teams to drive a relentless pursuit of continuously improved ilities (scalability, usability, portability, supportability, etc.). Partner with marketing and contracts to establish the order-to-cash process for new products. Lead and develop high-performing extended teams for multiple new product initiatives employing strong project management skills (communication, critical thinking, scope management, communication, risk & change management). Partner with Learning & Education Services to ensure robust training plans are established to educate and train customer-facing teams on the product, implementation, service and support model. Gather market intelligence to inform the business and shape implementation and service and support models for hardware, software, and hosted solutions. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION The successful candidate will have a record of impressive implementation, service and support achievements of new medical products made possible through effective project management. They should have a demonstrable history of deploying new service and support models executing these through tactical activities and delivering meaningful results. Required Knowledge, Skills, Attributes: Robust project management capabilities in addition to expert level understanding of product development life cycle of new products. Possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks through effective prioritization to meet tight deadlines. Strong analytical, problem-solving, listening and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience being forward thinking and taking initiative. Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization and influence without authority. Demonstrated understanding of how key business decisions and product design impact implementation, service and support capabilities. Must be able to see the big picture and provide meaningful input on strategic direction and key business decisions. At the same time must be able to lead extended teams to define detailed project plans for individual product releases. Solid understanding of and experience with risk management (identifying, communicating, mitigating and escalating). Clinical and technical aptitude with understanding of interoperability between products and hospital systems, including EHRs. Effectively communicate project status to management and leadership; provide strategic recommendations to drive results. Consistently pushes self and others to achieve challenging goals with a track record of executional successes. Willingness to mentor and develop GCS Readiness project managers. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. High integrity and ethics and strong fit with BD values. Willingness and desire to travel domestically up to 25%. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business administration, health information technology, medical informatics or applicable experience preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, customer service, marketing or customer facing role in medical device industry; knows their way around hospitals. Prior experience establishing implementation, service and support models or equivalent experience implementing and/or supporting FDA regulated devices in US hospitals. Demonstrated experience working in a remote work environment and leading teams remotely. Strong MS office skills particularly in advanced PowerPoint & Excel.
