available at: WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Sorrento Therapeutics
("Sorrento") is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to
join the Bioserv team.WHAT YOU'LL DO:The Manufacturing Manager is
responsible for directing and training the project coordinators,
technicians, and temporary employees in a manner consistent with
Bioserv policies. The Manager is to coordinate daily activities for
the internal work force and outside services (such as cleaning) and
aid on job set up and customer interface. They are to assist the
management as required. The Manager will oversee the training,
hiring, dismissal, and development of all Manufacturing department
employees' improvement of current systems, and oversee the master
production schedule. The Manager will coordinate with clients and
the other functional groups within Bioserv in Quality Assurance,
Production, Maintenance, and Materials Management to maintain the
highest quality products and customer satisfaction. They will
communicate the status of all aspects of the production process to
management and will report directly to the Chief Operating
Officer.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervise
Project Coordinators, Technicians, and temporary employees. Promote
teamwork and cooperation between different functional groups.
Coordinate schedule with other department manager. Assist Project
Coordinators during job set-up and customer interface when
necessary. Ensure that completed BHR's and associated manufacturing
documents are accurate and send to Quality Assurance (QA) in a
timely manner. Ensure that assigned failure investigations and
corrective actions are completed in a timely and quality manner.
Train employees in quality procedures, documentation and current
safety practices. Assist employees in efforts to achieve
established performance goals. Review employees' performance with
other manager on a regular basis. Take major responsibility for
decisions related to employee hiring and termination. Recommend and
develop efficiency and productivity improvements. Perform other
activities as assigned by management. Oversee and direct all jobs
on the production floor. Meet production deadlines in a dynamic
manufacturing environment Identify discrepancies during
manufacturing activities and notify management and QA to ensure
actions are taken in a timely manner to prevent deviations and
non-conformances due to the issue. Assist with other cross
functional teams on an as needed basis to ensure company's goals
and objectives are met. Prepares long -term and short-term plans
for the development of the department based on corporate goals.
Develops action plan for streamlining activities of the department
and increase efficiency. Follows policies and procedures; Completes
administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's
goals and values. Other duties as performed.EDUCATION AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in science (BS/ BA) or equivalent
is preferred. Minimum of 3-4 years of college coursework in the
sciences, or equivalent work experience is required. 6-8 years
supervisory experience in a Quality regulated manufacturing
facility or equivalent experience is required. Must be familiar
with the total quality system including cGMP and ISO regulations.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment is required. Strong
leadership and team-building skills desirable. Good documentation
and record keeping skills are essential. Good organizational and
communication skills are required. Aseptic manufacturing experience
is required. Must be very meticulous, well-organized and pay
attention to detail. Excellent communication skills when
communicating with management, colleagues, peers and management of
other departments, third parties and regulatory agencies. Must be
friendly, possess good interpersonal skills and a team player.
