Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented individual to lead a team of Mechanical, Electronics, and Electro-mechanical engineers located in San Diego, CA with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following: Responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following: Lead a section of electronics, electrical and mechanical engineers (15-20 personnel)
Oversee electronics & payloads subsystems engineering project execution for autonomous systems programs
Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes
Partner with technical and functional management to develop an approach that satisfies the staffing needs between programs
Build an payloads engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation
Timecard approval, employee performance evaluations, facilitating employee growth, and special assignments in support of the functional homeroom
Ensure personnel and hardware safety, driving compliance with policies and procedures including security, property management, training, configuration control, and test conduct Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of combined technical and management experience or Masters and 7 years of technical and management experience
Experience with avionics development and integration
Experience with avionics qualification and airworthiness certification
Active or Interim DoD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: OEM avionics development and/or integration & test experience
Agile expertise, to include scrum master and sprint planning
Excellent communication skills
Proven leadership skills
Prior Functional Management Experience
Significant Engineering Management Experience
Ability and desire to provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports
Extensive knowledge of electronics and payloads subsystems Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
