As a senior leader you will embody our values of excellence, integrity and accountability while modeling a one team approach to person-centered services. The Director of Employment Services works in concert with the Sr. Director of Employment Services to implement department objectives by supervising Program Managers performance, overseeing client service delivery and case management functions, marketing services to clients, referral sources, funding sources and employers and representing The Arc of San Diego in the community. This position may be asked to assist in procuring and maintaining service contracts designed to provide community based employment opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities.Who you are:

  • A strong advocate with active observation skills for the rights and best interests of adults with intellectual or developmental disabilitiesA typical day will include:
    • Supervises hiring, training and performance of Employment Services staff and volunteers
    • Maintaining standards as a quality choice provider
    • Managing experienced, independent staff throughout San Diego County
    • Engaging community partners and expanding awareness on programs
    • Designs and implements quality employment services for people with disabilities
    • Ensures appropriate employment services are available for participants
    • Supervises any employer or business contracts including pricing and employer relations needed to provide participants with employment servicesWhat you'll need to be successful:
      • A Bachelor's Degree with coursework applicable to the social services field
      • Strong applied experience in managing multiple programs
      • Knowledge and experience in employment service programs for individuals with intellectual and /or developmental disabilities
      • Supervisory experience including managing through others
        • Are comfortable in multiple software systems AND in manual processes
          • Valid CA Driver's License with clean driving record
          • Immediate access to vehicle with working seatbelts to transport participantsWe'd love it if you:
