The team is responsible for the strategic development, management, and execution of a wide range of communications activities that build and enhance the company's image and reputation as well as support the advancement of the company's overall goals and objectives.Let's talk about the roleResMed is looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Senior Director, Corporate Communications (External) to develop and execute external communications, and public and media relations strategies to support ResMed's purpose and strategic business objectives. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Communications, the Senior Director, Corporate Communications is a senior-level and influential role that works closely with ResMed leaders across the global organization, as well as the broader communications and marketing teams and the overall ResMed organization.In this role, you will partner with corporate, commercial, and functional leaders across the organization to provide perspective, and guidance, and lead the development of proactive external and integrated communications strategies and programs, including innovative storytelling and engagement ideas, that communicate and align key messages globally. You will be responsible for maintaining a positive public perception of ResMed, increasing media presence and coverage, and further strengthening ResMed's brand awareness. Your experience providing strategic counsel and collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization is essential to your success.The Senior Director, Corporate Communications (External) will lead the team responsible for global media relations, brand strategy and communications, social media, and market/regional/local/community-based communications. You will work closely with other members of the Corporate Communications team to ensure the external team is executing integrated communications programs. You will also closely collaborate with ResMedians across the global organization in various functions including commercial teams, marketing communications, government affairs, medical, clinical, and regulatory affairs to support their strategic goals and objectives with external communications programs, strategies, plans, and tactics.RESPONSIBILITIES:Communications Strategy & Execution

  • Develop strategic communications programs and campaigns that position and grow awareness for ResMed's corporate and commercial goals, objectives, and priorities with media, industry, advocates, partners, associations, customers, consumers, and other key audiences.
  • Drive greater awareness of ResMed through integrated corporate and consumer communications strategies that result in positive paid and earned coverage across a broad range of media, including broadcast, print, trade, and consumer outlets.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for corporate and global commercial leaders regarding effective communications strategies and tactics, media relations, social media, and conference planning.
  • Lead and produce engaging, informative communications programs that reflect ResMed's strategic goals and brand image. Protect and raise awareness of the ResMed story and brand.
  • Develop and manage ResMed's Social Media team to deliver a strategic content program that effectively grows social media footprint and influence in support of corporate/commercial goals and objectives.Region/Country/Market PR/Media
    • Manage and direct the relationship between ResMed corporate, country/market, and regional marketing communications teams and local PR firms to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company strategic goals and initiatives.
    • Ensure the effective and timely implementation of country/market level PR strategy, tactics, and initiatives as needed.
    • Direct the process for the development and maintenance of country/market press releases, talking points, presentations, and other communications materials for use at the country/market level.
    • Partner with local commercial leaders and marketing teams to develop editorial angles to keep ResMed relevant within the geographies/communities it serves - targeting local geographic/market relevant publications, broadcast, community publications, or others.
    • Manage development and distribution of PR toolkits for the countries/markets.
    • Media train country/local market spokespeople and area leadership. Prep and/or staff them for each media encounter whenever possible or ensure that an appropriate ResMed or agency partner provides those services.
    • Act as a spokesperson for the company in the country/market/location, when appropriate.
    • Monitor, assess, evaluate, and adjust the regional/country/market PR strategy as neededAgency Management
      • Manage ResMed's relationships with its strategic communications agency partner(s) at the corporate and regional/market level.
      • Develop and manage the agency strategy to ensure collaborative efforts between agencies and corporate/local PR teams to energize, engage, and drive the teams forward to produce strong and measurable results.
      • Serve as the liaison between the agency and other departments/functions as needed.Team Management & Development

            • Four-year degree or higher in communications, PR, marketing, journalism, or related discipline
            • Significant progressive communications or public relations experience and experience directing or managing others; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
            • Communications experience working at a large, global, public corporation.Preferred:
              • Communications experience working in healthcare, healthcare technology, medical devices, or technology industries.
