Job SummaryDRS Daylight Solutions (Daylight) is a best-in-class
photonics solutions provider, enabling its customers with
cutting-edge products & services, and reliable supply chain
solutions, that are leveraged to maximize customer
satisfaction.Daylight has pioneered the development and
commercialization of advanced semiconductor lasers and laser-based
instrumentation that can be operated across the electromagnetic
spectrum. Examples include world-leading Quantum Cascade Laser
technologies in the mid-infrared and high-brightness diode lasers
in the red and near-infrared.The Product Line Manager (PLM) is
responsible for driving key financial performance, including profit
& loss, bookings and revenue. The PLM for Scientific Tunable Lasers
will connect strategic markets and customers with Daylight's core
technologies, products and services in order to maximize customer
satisfaction and enterprise value for Daylight. ThePLM will be a
business and technology enthusiast, who leads effectively by
building consensus and alignment through collaboration as part of a
cross-functional team. The PLM will be proficient in conducting
research on markets, products, technologies, and competitors, and
will leverage such research to maximize market positioning and
drive product roadmaps. The successful PLM candidate will
demonstrate excellent capabilities in professional emotional
intelligence, and how those skills can be applied to support
Daylight's near and long term business goals.Job
Responsibilities*Responsible for maintaining and monitoring product
performance metrics to include bookings, revenue, P&L, and
other operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
*Work closely with cross-functional team (e.g., sales, marketing,
engineering, manufacturing, finance) to meet financial
objectives
*Optimize customer satisfaction by working closely with and leading
a cross-functional team to manage and determine priorities for
product & service pricing, delivery, repairs and roadmaps
*Ability to work independently
* Support business development initiatives to grow the Scientific
Instrumentation business
*Generate and deliver presentations, both internal and external,
describing Daylight technologies, product capabilities and
solutions for customer applications
*Participate with cross-functional team in the development of sales
forecasts for use in production planning, manufacturing operations
and for controlling inventories
*Identify opportunities to enhance existing products and develop
new products related to tunable lasers that align with customer
requirements in targeted markets
*Analyze market data including product specific sales, overall
sales volume, and competitive product releases and pricing
strategies for tunable lasers and recommend marketing objectives
and strategies
*Participate with sales, cost accounting, marketing management, and
other functional areas in the development of pricing and cost
recommendations
*Participate in trade shows and industry events, customer and
prospective customer presentations and visits, product
demonstrations and other similar events as appropriate
*Respond to product-related informational requests from internal
and external personnel and serve as a primary contact for customer
service issues pertaining to tunable laser products
*May serve as the primary interface for customers on business and
technical issues
*Keep current on technology and trends of product related
knowledge
*Develop and oversee the generation of marketing reports as they
pertain to the tunable laser product line
*May be responsible for managing others in this role
*Assist with special projects and perform other duties as
assigned
*Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and
culture of the organizationThe ideal candidate will have had at
least at least five years of related experience working with lasers
(or an equivalent combination of experience and training that
provides the required knowledge, skills and
abilities).Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Optics
or Physics preferred, with at least five years of related
experience, and a minimum of 3 years of experience with direct
product management responsibility.

* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25-50% of
time)The pay scale for this position is $123,292/year -
$191,412/year. The pay scale information is a general guideline
