The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for oversight of day-to-day processes and colleagues of the hotel's Food & Beverage and/or Rooms divisions. Oversight may consist of the Food & Beverage Outlets- Drift eat drink, Shor, Cove Pool Bar and Market and/or areas of the Rooms division including Housekeeping, Laundry, Front Office, PBX, Bell stand, and/or Recreation. The primary duties of this role will include but are not limited to resolving guest concerns, scheduling, coaching and counseling, maintaining department standards, staff development, interviewing/hiring, payroll and supporting the team members within these respective areas. The Assistant Operations Manager is also responsible for maximizing revenue, controlling expenses, and driving the highest level of customer service and scores. This individual conducts department meetings and pre-shifts to maintain open communication with colleagues.

• Opportunity for growth and advancement! The salary range for this position is $64,480 to $79,600 . This is the pay range for this position that Hyatt Regency La Jolla reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

  Qualifications:
  
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • 2-3 years of progressive hotel Rooms and/or F&B Management experience
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
