Job Description Position Description: In late 2018, Mitchell International announced a merger with Genex Services. It is an exciting time at Mitchell as the Total Rewards team works to integrate the two businesses. The team is assessing the benefit offerings across the newly combined organization and defining the go-forward strategy and administration for 4,500 employees across the US and Canada. The Company is looking for a Benefits and Wellness leader who can creatively align the offerings across the legacy companies. The Benefits and Wellness leader is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and administration of an overall benefits and wellness strategy to ensure market competitiveness, fair internal practices and alignment with the corporate rewards philosophy and values. The Benefits and Wellness leader will interact with the CEO and other C-Level Leaders and be responsible for leading a team of four Benefits Analysts. In partnership with the company's broker, the Benefits and Wellness leader will make recommendations to the head of HR and Leader of Total Rewards regarding potential additions, enhancements or changes to program offerings based on research and analysis, benchmarking and best practices, and create annual implementation and communication plans. Find more on the merger here: ***************************************************************************************** Position Responsibilities: * Leads the design and implementation of benefits and wellness programs; proposes program improvements as needed * Leads a team of four Benefits Analysts * Evaluates, designs and recommends benefit programs based on overall effectiveness, benchmarks, market assessment, business strategy and cost impact * Designs, implements and directs Health, Benefit and Wellness strategies and plans including policies/procedures * Drives standards for operational excellence and leads by example. Leads mapping of benefits and wellness processes and programs and ensures documentation of all programs and process with a focus on consistency and creating the ability to scale * Responsible for direction and coordination of all aspects of Mitchell's 401(k) Plans (U.S. and Canada), which includes plan design, administration and vendor management * Responsible for due diligence and successful integration related to mergers and acquistiions for benefits * Oversees all aspects of Leave of Absence, time off and Workers' Compensation programs, including reporting processes, claim management, return to work, and settlement negotiations. Maintains working relationship with vendors and legal counsel. Acts as a point of escalation on necessary cases and ensures compliance with relevant company policies, procedures and applicable law * Ensures compliance with all applicable State and Federal benefit regulations. Supervises preparation of reports, applications and required regulatory filings * Manages vendor relationships including benefits consultants, brokers, third party administrators and other external service providers by building strong relationships and overseeing vendor performance * Designs and implements employee communications for benefits and wellness programs * Provides leadership and support for the Benefits & Wellness team Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field; benefits certification desired * A minimum of 8 years' experience in a robust benefits and wellness role, showing progressive responsibility * 4+ years supervisory experience * Player/Coach Leadership style skilled in setting team vision, goals and objectives and provide a supportive, feedback rich environment. * Demonstrated ability to effectively lead & develop a diverse team including employees at other sites with focus on building a strong cross functional team across the legacy companies * Experience with self-insurance and Consumer Driven Health Plans * Proven technical competency with benefit programs, including: HIPAA and ERISA compliance, tax implications * Demonstrated success implementing and sustaining effective Wellness programs * Experience managing relationships with 3rd party vendors * Solutions-oriented project management skills including thinking and presenting ideas at a strategic level and ensuring outcomes are delivered and executed on a tactical level * Outstanding analytical and solid financial skills with a detailed focus on presenting data that supports and measures best practices and company goals * Solid experience and understanding of web-based HRIS systems including configurations, testing, trouble shooting, system implementations and carrier integrations; experience with payroll practices * Proficient in Microsoft Office products - intermediate/advanced Excel Mitchell International, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our workforce and the knowledge of our people.
