Job Description: Part-Time Mental Health Clinician- 1 to 2 days per week totaling 15-20 hours- Hourly payment depends on experience.Please Submit Cover letter with your resume. Cover letter should provide a description of the type of training you have received in substance use treatment and any working experience you have with substance use treatment--where, what kind of treatment (agency or in individual practice), and how long.Organization/Department:--Soledad House/Clinical DepartmentReports to:--Clinical Director, Program DirectorDescription of Role:The mental health clinician at Soledad House, LLC provides counseling and other therapeutic services for women with drug and alcohol problems and co-occurring mental health symptoms or other behavioral problems, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, education, service coordination, and referrals. The primary goal for the mental health clinician is to help clients modify problematic behavior with the intention of full recovery from alcohol and drug use and abuse and recovery or management of mental health symptoms.Position Qualifications--- A minimum of a master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work,Marriage Family Therapy, or Human Services (or) a doctorate in Clinical orCounseling Psychology (and)--- A current mental health provider license from the California Board of BehavioralSciences or Board of Psychology (and)--- A minimum of 2 years' experience treating substance use disorders in a treatment or agency setting--- Must be free of formal parole or probation status for a minimum of 3 years--- Must possess a valid California Driver's license, and Insured transportationPosition Duties--- Work a maximum of 20-24 hours per week--- Work a set schedule that has been approved by the Clinical Director/ExecutiveDirector--- Facilitate a minimum of 3 morning or afternoon groups, counseling and/or education groups per week according to program needs--- Provide counseling and therapeutic services to 4-5 individual clients per week as part of a regular caseload--- Provide intake assessments for incoming clients as scheduled--- Conduct insurance utilization reviews for clients as scheduled--- Regularly attend weekly clinical staff meeting on Tuesdays from 2:20-4:00 PM--- Meet with the Clinical Director at least once every two weeks to review client caseload and treatment progress--- Provide 1-week notice for extended time off to Clinical Director to ensure proper group coverage--- May be asked to cover treatment groups or individual sessions or intake assessments or insurance utilization reviews when needed, such as when another counselor is absent or unavailable--- May also provide case management services as needed to facilitate and ensure communication, linkage, and continuity of care between clients, physicians, administrators, and other organizational components, community resources and service providersJob Description: Part-Time Mental HealthClinicianPosition Responsibilities--- Conduct clinical evaluations of clients including screening and assessment--- Develop co-created treatment plans with clients to provide direction for alcohol and drug treatment (primary) and management of co-occurring mental health symptoms--- Provide individual counseling sessions to clients and family counseling sessions to current clients and their family members--- Facilitate psychoeducational, skills-development and process group counseling sessions--- Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of all treatment intervention modalities including assessments, treatment plans, counseling sessions, crisis interventions, safety plans, and other client-related interactions in the KIPU electronic medical record software--- Consult with and contribute to the design of treatment curriculum--- Provide referrals to clients for internal or outside resources to aid in the implementation of a treatment plan--- Provide clinical consultation with collateral contact resources, including family members, mentors, and others to help support clients in their recovery--- Provide crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary--- Participate in all assigned staff meetings, service coordination, staff development, and training as required--- Participate in ongoing supervision and consultation with the clinical and program directors, as well as the administrative staff, to address client, agency, and job- related issues--- Adhere to established professional codes of ethics and standards, and federal and state laws and agency regulations regarding the treatment of substance use disordersExpectations1. Job Skills and Knowledge Qualifications:- Evidence of training and education in the treatment of substance use disorders- Evidence of training and education in the treatment of mental health symptoms- Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment with clients who may be emotionally dysregulated or in varying degrees of treatment motivation- Strong verbal and written communication skills- Demonstrated adherence to the confidentiality of client information and data- Professional and courteous tone and delivery- Strong organization and leadership skills3. Quantity and Quality of Work: Evidence of care about the quality and accuracy of work being produced. Accepts responsibility for completing job tasks. Uses time productively and efficiently.4. Shows professionalism in office setting.8. Flexibility/ Handling emergencies: Responds well to changing situations or routines and understand job duties can change where there is help needed. Handles crisis situations calmly and professionally.Job Type: Part-timePay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)COVID-19 considerations:Masks are required, and COVID tests are required if employee/client has any symptoms, and we follow the CDC guidelines and expectations.
