Job Overview/Summary

The Research Associate is responsible for implementation of in-vitro and ex-vivo studies in laboratory environment; including maintaining cell culture of commercial cell lines and primary cells, performing a variety of cell-based assays to measure cell response to therapies using microplate readers, microscopes and FACS analyzer, conducting immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescent staining of cells and tissue sections. They may also assist the in-vivo team with mouse work and tissue processing following mouse dissection.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Perform cell culture and cell-based assays. Participate in experimental design with guidance from Scientists.
• Perform immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescent staining of cells and tissue sections
• Perform FACS and ELISA experiments following guidance from Scientists
• Assist in vivo team with mouse work and tissue processing as needed
• Analyze, summarize and archive data in an accurate, timely and complete manner
• Work independently with moderate supervision
• Have open communication, positive interpersonal and teamwork skills, and timely, accurate maintenance of written reports

  Required Qualifications
  
  • Requires BS in Biology or related fields or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year of related laboratory experience
  • Experience in conducting cell culture and cell-based assays in a lab setting
    
    Preferred Qualifications
    
    • Immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescent staining of cells and tissue sections.
    • Experience in mouse handling, injection and dosing.
    • Experience in FACS or Flow Cytometry.
    • Troubleshoot effectively and solve scientific problems with supervision
    • Willing and able to work under the pressure of deadlines and find solutions to meet timelines
    • Flexible team player, strong interpersonal skills
    • Comfortable using computers, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and internet
    • Willing and able to work within a Quality System and comply with SOPs
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
    • Ability to multi-task with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy
