Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse - Critical Care Unit (CCU) Tridant Solutions is seeking locum CCU Registered Nurses to support our team at various California VA Health Care System facilities (San Francisco, Fresno, Mather, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego, Loma Linda) Tridant Solutions is a fast-growth and award-winning professional services firm that combines service excellence with operational responsiveness. License/Education:

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as an RN in the appropriate state of practice.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience:
    • Minimum 12 months of experience working within their specialized field.
    • Must have worked as an RN within their specialty within the last six months.
    • At least one (1) year of acute care experience working with ER patient population
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
    • Proficient with electronic health records (EHR), communications systems, computers, etc. Note: Must maintain licensing requirements/certification/accreditation during the entire performance period. Must agree to a criminal background check, and drug testing, as a prerequisite for contract performance. Job Description:
      • Provide care to acutely and critically ill patients in an ongoing monitoring environment
      • Perform various diagnostic tests, administer medications, and develop patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals.
      • Observe patient progress and record such observations in the patient medical record
      • Prepare, administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV), and record prescribed medications.
      • Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments
      • Assess patient pain levels and sedation requirements
      • Collect specimens for lab tests
      • Provide basic, bedside care
      • Initiate patient education plan, as prescribed by physician (i.e., post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and rehabilitation)
      • Record patients' medical information and vital signs, monitoring patients for changes in status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute appropriate interventions.
      • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition
      • Order prescribed lab work and interpret lab reports
      • Prepare equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient
      • Prepare to provide emergency response care
      • Document all patient care
      • Apply Hemodynamic, Phlebotomy and IV protocols
      • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, manometers, oxygen pumps, etc.
      • Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and functioning
      • Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring/life support equipment shows adverse symptomatology
      • Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identified needs.
