AdministratorPapaya Pet Care is looking for a Veterinary Hospital Administrator for the San Diego market. Our facilities are new and outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment. As a part of the hospital's leadership team, the Hospital Administrator spearheads all areas of the business by develop and driving a strategic plan that focuses on all areas of growth: the client base, employee development and hospital medical and client services.Papaya Pet Care is a company created for the purpose of improving the way we provide veterinary medicine. This is your chance to get in early and be a part of something that moves the industry forward.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership and Personnel Management Create and nurture a culture of positivity, compassion, and a focus on continuous improvement. Participate in the practice's strategic planning process and actively work to operationalize strategic initiatives to move the practice forward. Focuses on others success. Identify and develop high potential employees to expand their skillsets and set them up for growth within the organization. Ensure team works in a cohesive and supportive manner enabling efficient and effective operations. Recruit, hire, and staff to support hospital operations, client, patient, cultural and budgetary needs. Establish and maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files. Develop and conduct new employee orientation and training programs for all areas of the hospital. Perform and deliver annual performance appraisals for hospital support staff Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll Monitor employee attendance and rest/meal periods for compliance with company policy and applicable legislation. Document and monitor employee leave, including Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, unpaid time off, medical and/or disability, maternity and/or FMLA leave.Operations and Financial Management Develop, update, and ensure compliance of SOPs for hospital operations both in the front of and back of house. SOPs must be focused around creating a safe and comfortable experience for the patient. Drive local marketing strategy to ensure a quickly growing client following. Manage hospital's P&L and key metrics to meet budgetary expectations. In partnership with field leadership and DVMs, develop, execute, and adapt annual strategic plan to ensure hospital is set for success.
