Reports to: Clinical Nursing Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary:

The Medical Assistant works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care assistance to a defined patient population at the Center.

Salary Range: $20.00-24.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the RN with gathering medical records and handling clinic tasks
• Assisting with minor office procedures
• Inputs, retrieves, and interprets data from multiple manual and computer information systems
• Utilizes critical thinking skills to recognize and solve patient problems
• Collaborates with the medical staff to facilitate and optimize patient care.
• Documenting patient care in electronic medical record
• Answering messages and returning phone calls Required Skills:
  • Advanced Computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be flexible and have a strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to apply good Clinical judgment
  • Ability to plan work, establish priorities, and remain flexible
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
  • Previous use of electronic medical record systems Qualifications/Experience/Education:
    • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with Medical Assistant Certification
    • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
    • One to three years Medical Assistant experience in related clinical settings
    • Ambulatory care/Physician office experience
