Job Description:

Our client, an orthopedic organization, is looking for a talented Medical Assistant to add to their team. This Entry level position is fully onsite in their San Diego, CA location.Responsibilities: Room patients, obtain patient history, offer instructions to prepare for exam / X-rays. Take necessary measurements (grip strength, leg strength). Assist physician in exams and procedures. Assist physician in the reduction of fractures. Schedule patients for offsite tests, lab work, scans, consultation appointments etc. Manage medical supply stocking and inventory. Document patient care, response to care, and telephone contact. Record and document prescription refill telephone requests. Comply with departmental policies and procedures at all times. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications: Certificate in Medical Assisting and 2 years clinical experience in an out-patient setting. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Knowledge of medications and medical supplies / equipment. Familiar with coding and worker's compensation. Knowledge in wound healing and complications. Knowledge in fracture healing and complications. Knowledge of the principles of aseptic techniques. Application and use of orthopedic equipment and supplies.
