Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program
(EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet
specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA
policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of
appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and
eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA
Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete
review of the EDRP application.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Oncology, Special Procedures,
Infusion Center, and Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice
Registered Nurse (APRN) The CNS supports the Special Procedures,
Infusion Center, Interventional Radiology, and hospital wide
Oncology Service. This is a full-time position.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Ambulatory Specialty Clinics,
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) The Clinical Nurse
Specialist (CNS) Ambulatory Specialty Clinics Advanced Practice
Registered Nurse (APRN) The CNS supports the Ambulatory Specialty
Clinics - Medical and Surgical Specialty Clinic. This is a
full-time position.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Medical Surgical Telemetry,
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) This CNS supports Medical
Surgical Telemetry Units (3 North and 5 East) - provides
appropriate age-specific care for patients ranging in age from 17
through the geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis
and physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs. 3 North
and 5 East supports the medicine and surgical service for cases of
general medicine, internal medicine, surgical, psychiatry,
co-morbidities, end of life, palliative care, hospice, wound care,
and cardiac care. This is a full-time position.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Critical Care, Advanced
Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): The Clinical Nurse Specialist
(CNS) Critical Care, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN):
Supports Critical Care Units (Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Direct
Observation Unit (DOU)). The Critical Care Units provide care for
Veterans ranging in age from young adulthood to geriatric years
experiencing acute, serious, and complex illnesses which are
life-threatening and require continual monitoring. Duties include
planning, administering and evaluation of nursing care while
quickly responding to changes in patient status. Critical care
nurse must be physically, mentally, and emotionally strong to work
with seriously ill patients, their loved ones, and willing to work
with COVID patients. Most patients in critical unit are physically
and mentally unstable and they require respiratory and heart
monitoring as well as treatment adjustments. ICU RNs are
responsible for managing medication and ventilator support.
Experience in hemodynamic lines/monitoring, pronging process for
COVID patients and flexibility and willingness to work any shift to
meet the needs of the unit. This is a full-time position.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Ambulatory Surgical Unit,
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) The Ambulatory Surgery
Unit (ASU) is a Peri-Anesthesia area that prepares patients for
surgery and procedures as well as discharges patients after Phase
II & III recovery. The CNS ASU APRN is responsible and accountable
for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or
supervising patient care in the ASU setting. The CNS ASU APRN is
accountable for adhering to established policies, standards of care
& practice. This is a part-time position.

Preferred Experience: 2-3 years CNS experience

Note regarding MSN degrees: If your MSN was obtained via a Bridge
Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration, a BSN
is not required.
Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II,
Appendix G-6 Nurse Qualification Standard. This can be found in the
local Human Resources Office.
Physical Requirements: These positions require the ability to
stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift grater than
30 pounds
