About the Job
The Associate Lab Manager, Assay Development plays an essential
role in helping the R&D lab operate smoothly. This role
oversees the support, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of the
R&D lab. This position is responsible for ensuring the team has
everything they need for success, from equipment, reagents,
specimens and consumables.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the R&D laboratory environment is maintained
and operational.
- Work with vendors and Procurement to obtain quotes and ensure
orders arrive on time as promised.
- Facilitate positive changes in the laboratory processes and
systems by proactively leading initiatives related to laboratory
improvements.
- Work with internal and external partners to ensure regular and
preventative maintenance of equipment is completed on required
schedule.
- Conduct regular maintenance of laboratory equipment according
to required schedules.
- Manage laboratory ordering, receipt, and stockroom organization
for reagents and supplies.--
- Address back-order supply challenges by communication with
procurement and escalating and communicating to the applicable lab
stakeholders the options, plans, and status of the supply
issues.
- Conduct regular meetings with laboratory stakeholders to
calibrate their needs and to anticipate changes in demands and
process.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable to navigate invoice
discrepancies.
- Maintain adherence to environmental and health safety
guidelines and policies.
- Manage sample waste streams and adherence to disposal
processes.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- HS/GED--
- 7+ years of experience working in the lab sciences and/or
academia in a laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics,
Cancer Genomics, or related field
- 3+ years of working experience in industry
- Experience utilizing molecular genetics equipment
- Familiarity with product development
- Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent skill in
collaboration and problem solving with other departments and
colleagues
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a
professional demeanor
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and
verbal instructions, particularly with scientific or technical
information
- Competent in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment in the presence of
chemicals and reagents
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient
data
