status since 2011. This position serves all UCSD Radiology
modalities including MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Breast
Imaging and Diagnostics at multiple UCSD locations. The workflow of
this position may include caring for a high volume of patients per
day in radiology setting, assisting anesthesia provider during
imaging study, assuming care of outside facility patients from
transport RN for imaging study, and providing oversight of LVNs in
Radiology setting. The Radiology RN will be working with patients
receiving radioactive isotopes and requires utilization of
dosimeter to monitor safe levels of radiation exposure. This
position services all Radiology modalities and will float to areas
within the department on an as needed bases, this can include
floating to all locations. Autonomous nursing care is the ability
of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for
patient care populations based on competence, professional
expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice
autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and
Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be
exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and
multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
