Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring a CA RN license and experience with pediatric critical care units. Responsibilities - Work within the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool, supporting PICU, CVICU, and NICU units - Care for critically ill newborns, pediatric, and cardiac patients in a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital setting - Day shifts (7:00-19:00) and night shifts (19:00-7:00) available with a rotating schedule - Required to work 4-5 weekend day shifts (Sat-Sun) and 5-6 weekend night shifts (Fri-Sat) per 4-week schedule, with one full weekend off every 4 weeks - Position requires floating to multiple critical care units within scope, but not to sister facilities - On-call required as assigned - Epic charting system is used and experience is required - Responsibilities include providing care to high-acuity pediatric and neonatal patients in specialized critical care units - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including holiday eves - RTO (time off) is restricted to 6 days maximum and all required shifts must still be covered within the week - Scrubs of any color are permitted - Free traveler parking is available - Work in a Magnet-designated, award-winning, academic teaching hospital environment - Local candidates are accepted under the same terms Requirements - Active California RN license required - Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience or strong CVICU background with floating experience - Current BLS and PALS certifications required - Epic EMR experience required - Flu vaccine required - Travel experience or experience with floating preferred Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624310.
