Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN SICU - Surgical Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in San Bernadino, California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: SICU - Surgical Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position requiring a CA RN license and advanced critical care skills. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of an acute care hospital - 47-bed ICU with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 - Patient population includes post-cardiac procedures (TAVR, PCI), open heart surgery, stroke, neuro, sepsis, DKA, and other critical cases - RNs are required to titrate both common titratable and set-rate drips - Equipment used includes ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, Nitric oxide, GE bedside and central tele monitors - RNs are responsible for reading and posting telemetry strips every 4 hours - Cerner EMR system is used - 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required - Float to telemetry units as needed - On-call requirements are present - Self-scheduling is allowed unless otherwise specified - Hospital-provided navy blue scrubs are required - Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients, titrating drips, and operating advanced ICU equipment - ICU techs/CNAs present to support nursing staff - 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapist coverage in the unit - Unit-specific orientation is provided after general hospital orientation with 1 shift in ICU and 1 in telemetry - RNs must pass Relias Dysrhythmia and sterile technique testing if required for the region - Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year - No holiday coverage required for this assignment /n /n Requirements/n - Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted - Minimum 2 years of recent SICU or ICU experience - Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS - Proven skills with vasoactive drips, lines, and ventilator management - Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips - Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-596819.
