Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Radiology Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, evenings - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Evenings, 5x8hrs - Hours: 40 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 13, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) for an acute care hospital radiology department, requiring 2 years of experience, ARRT, and Fluoroscopy certification. Details - Acute care hospital setting covering all imaging areas, including inpatient and urgent care departments - Imaging studies performed include portable X-ray, CT with contrast, MRI/MRA, and other standard modalities - Assignment to specific imaging area (CT, XR, MRI, etc.) will be specified per requisition - Charting via Cerner EMR; Fuji imaging equipment used - 8-hour evening shifts for hospital imaging areas; urgent care shifts are 12 hours (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM) - Every other weekend required - Weekday call required from end of shift through the morning of the next shift, alternating with regular staff - Weekend call is rotating, covering Friday 6:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM, with a 30-minute to 1-hour response time - Holiday coverage assigned as needed - 13-week contract Requirements - Minimum 2 years of radiology technologist experience - Active ARRT (R) certification required; pending certifications not accepted - Active Fluoroscopy permit required - Current BLS (AHA) certification required - Active state or compact (NLC) radiologic technologist license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted - Experience with portable X-ray, CT with contrast, MRI/MRA, and other standard imaging modalities - Proficiency with Cerner EMR preferred - Valid driver's license required for consideration - 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Additional Information - Orientation is typically 1–2 days depending on skillset - Teal scrubs required - Support staff includes in-house hospitalists and intensivists (Sound Physician Group) available 24/7, as well as 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage - Candidates who have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by a CommonSpirit or affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity Health) within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered American Traveler Job ID P-690393.
