As a designated stroke unit, our highly engaged nurses on the Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) provide exceptional patient care in a compassionate, welcoming environment. We invite you to join our team of Registered Nurses responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. With quality patient and family-centered care in mind, the RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. This is a 12 hour, full-time, n ight shift position (0.9 FTE 72 hours per pay period). Required Experience/Specialized Skills: One (1) year of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting, or Long Term Acute (LTAC) setting. Six (6) months of RN Telemetry experience preferred. Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors. Required Certification/Registration: Current CA RN License. Current BLS certification from American Heart Association. Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association NIHSS certification preferred. Required Education/Course(s)/Training: Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
