Job Description:
Sous Chef - Our busy kitchen staff needs you! Join our team that
serves the Point Loma Cafe, Bayside Bar and Hotel Banquets at
Holiday Inn Bayside! We need a hard-working individual who will
assist our Executive Chef in the daily operations of food
production for all outlets and our banquet food operations. As Sous
Chef you will also be responsible with assisting our chef with
tasks such as ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, and monitoring
inventory levels. We are willing to train the right individual!
Requirements:
-A minimum of 3 years' experience in both a la carte & banquet
operations
-Ability to work extended hours when business necessitates
-In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
-Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment
-Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities
-Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and sales
staff
-Speak, read, and write in English; Fluency in Spanish is a
plus
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Leads kitchen team in the Executive Chef absence and assists him
with daily operations, including line cooking, food preparation,
dish plating and administrative tasks
-Works with Chef to maintain kitchen organization, and trains,
supervises, develops, disciplines and counsels all team members
according to company policies & procedures
-Provide work direction to kitchen employees on required tasks and
completion times/dates
-Supervises and inspects all preparation and cooking equipment on a
regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in
operating order
-Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or
required
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00+ an hour, Based on experience
