Top of the Market, a San Diego fine dining institution, is looking for exceptional line cooks to join our exhibition-style kitchen.At Top of the Market, our line cooks are part of the guest experience. Our exhibition style kitchen is located front and center in our dining room, with a counter where guests can watch our cooks work and interact with them while they prepare our signature seafood dishes.*We Provide the Following:** Growth Opportunities* Great training and commitment to promotions from within!* Teamwork* Generous Dining Discount* Professionalism* Productive Environment* Strong company culture* Delicious food in a beautiful restaurant!*Essential Job Duties:** Preparing high quality food items to order for our guests* Following recipe and presentation guidelines to meet or exceed guests' expectations* Coordinating food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to each table* Ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards to ensure guest safety* Meeting special guest requests while ensuring Uncompromised Quality*Qualifications:** 1-2 years experience as a line cook or prep cook; fine dining experience preferred, but not required* Must be able to work nights, weekends and most holidays* Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures* Possess strong knife skills and be able to operate basic kitchen equipment* Communicates effectively* California Food Handlers Card or ability to get one within 30 days of employment* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment* Keen attention to detail* Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours in a day* Ability to lift 50 pounds* Ability to bend, stoop, and raise arms above head on occasion* MUST be available to work evenings_The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
