Position Summary:RMD Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Director to join our hospitality team. As an HR Director, you will be responsible for leading the HR department, promoting a positive culture, and ensuring that the company is in compliance with all employment laws and regulations. You will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives.Major areas of focus will includestaff recruiting, training and development, retention, compliance, employee experience and company culture. Type: Salary, Full-timePay scale: $105,000 - $120,000Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including the development of creative plans and programs to attract high quality staff.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with our company's goals and objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive company culture that encourages employee engagement and productivity; lead by example, modeling the company's values and expectations for behavior.
  • Direct and supervise Human Resources staff.
  • Oversee the performance management process, including the development of performance metrics and evaluation tools, and creating improvement plans.
  • Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations as necessary.
  • Partner with the executive team to manage the compensation and benefits program, including the development of salary structures and benefits packages.
    • Develop and implement employee retention strategies; this includes the planning, budgeting and execution of staff outings and events (example annual RMD Carnival, Padre's game, etc.).
      • Develop and execute staff recognition programs to recognize and reward valuable and long-term team members; execute existing programs such as Rookie of the Year and Service Hero.
      • Conduct New Hire Orientation for all new staff, updating the presentation periodically to keep it up to date, fresh and inspiring.
      • Ensure new hire training is being executed according to standard and that all staff have successfully completed all modules and tests before being assigned a standard job code.
      • Conduct30-day check-ins for new staff and regular exit interviews to receive feedback on employee experience and gain insight into morale, with the goal of reducing turnover.
      • Spend time regularly in the venues to ensure face time with management and line staff and keep communication lines open.
      • Develop and execute staff development programs to identify future leaders and promote from within the company.
      • Ensure that the company is in compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations.
      • Act as the liaison between the RMD Office and the various venues and venue office admin staff for all aspects of the employee life cycle, human resources operations, and staff issues or incidents.
      • Ensure new staff are onboarded properly and to keep all employee files in the payroll system updated and maintained.
      • Be the admin of the Jobvite hiring platform and ensure all users are properly trained and follow SOPs.
      • Coordinate with Accounting on staff benefits information and registrations.
      • Ensure all mandatory staff trainings are being completed and tracked(Example Sexual Harassment, First Aid/CPR, Safety/OSHA & Serve Safe), and staff certifications are up to date and tracked (Example RBS, Food Handlers & Guard Card).
      • Ensure that EDD and Workers Compensationcases are tracked, and necessary paperwork completed.
      • Assist Legal department with insurance applications and audits.
      • Ensure staff performance coaching and disciplinary actions are properly documented.
      • Coordinate all staff terminations and final checks between venue admins and Accounting/Payroll.
      • Stay up to date on industry trends by reading periodicals and other resources and attending periodic training and seminars.
      • Ensure RMD is represented well in our community by leading staff participation in charity and other community events (Example Lamplighter Awards, Gaslamp cleanup).Qualifications:
        • A minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in the hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial / director-level role.
        • Strong knowledge of CA federal and state employment laws and regulations.
        • Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
        • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
        • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
        • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
        • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
        • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
        • Proficient computer experience and excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office programs.Education:
          • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
          • PHR or SPHR, SHRM CP or SHRM SCP preferred.Certificates, License, and Registrations:
            • Annual expectations will be et for ongoing learning and may include acquiring certifications, licenses and / or registration that are applicable to the responsibilities of this position.
