Job Ad Template OU.LOCATIONPosition summary:The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will be focused onbuilding a true partnership between IT and the business unit/areathey support, by taking a leadership role in shaping technologyservices aligned to the strategic direction of the function. This isachieved by having a true understanding of their partner's business,its strategic direction, underlying processes, required outcomes andcorresponding pain points. The BRM will frame complex problemsby providing simple and standard solutions to both the business andtechnology organizations. The BRM will assume the responsibility forproviding the interface between the business unit/area assigned andIT to ensure the alignment between the delivery of solutions,capabilities or other project work, and the operational andstrategic goals and priorities of the business unit. The BRM will bethe contact point for business leadership and senior stakeholders,providing a conduit for their interests and objectives, whileequally serving as a channel of engagement and communications fromIT to the respective business unit or area. The BRM will partnerwith, and help focus business leadership efforts in, identifying andformulating initiatives, proposals, and business cases to achievetheir objectives, while maintaining alignment with the ITenvironment and strategy through creating awareness andunderstanding of current and future technological capabilities. Thetrue value comes in being able to influence at the appropriateleadership levels on both sides, bringing together a strongpartnership between the Business and IT.Responsibilities:Maintain the overall business relationship to ensure IT isdelivering on commitments and meeting business needs withinagreed upon Service Levels AgreementsEstablish and maintain ongoing relationships across thebusiness unit's leadership team, key executives and otherstakeholders for IT to have an ongoing understanding of how bestto meet their objectives.Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of the business unitleadership toward identifying and establishing the best possibleset of initiatives and projects aligned with their prioritiesand meeting their goals and objectives.Engage with and conduct periodic reviews with the businessunit executives to validate and assess their project plans, andassist in reprioritizing to meet business unit needs asrequired.Identify and suggest reviews of any significant business unitinitiatives or projects that are challenged in order todetermine whether they should continue, be significantlychanged, placed on hold or discontinued.Proactively alert business unit leadership to opportunitiesfor applying technology developments to the challenges fromgrowing digitalization in their area.Work with other IT staff to identify enterprise wideefficiencies and synergistic opportunities.Support IT leadership in communicating IT's value contributionto the business unit and enterprise, and cement theunderstanding that projects and programs are the mechanism bywhich strategy is realized and change is delivered.Participate in development and ongoing maintenance of ITmaterials, documentation, workshops and other artifacts toensure consistency in business unit engagement and interactionwith IT.Support good business unit financial stewardship throughhighlighting any issues arising from the performance ofindividual projects to assure the on-plan usage and consumptionof resources and funding.Take charge of the development and maintenance ofcommunications and reporting concerning the projects of thebusiness unit.Ensure proper inventory of applications and calculation oftotal cost of ownership (TCO) for the business portfolio(s)supportedDefine and maintain all business relationship management keyperformance indicators (KPI) metricsBRM may also be called upon toGather and validate business/technology requirements toestablish scope and define project impact, outcome criteria andmetrics.Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency,comprehensibility, feasibility and conformity to standards.Translate conceptual user requirements into functionalrequirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible todevelopers/project team.Create systems and business process models, specifications,diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers and/orthe project team.Develop and conduct reviews of the business requirements toensure that requirement specifications are correctlyinterpreted, meet customers' needs and are aligned with dynamicbusiness drivers.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in computer science,engineering, business administration, Finance or relateddiscipline.Min. 8 years of experience in IT and business/industryFour or more years in diverse roles and increasingresponsibilities across business, IT or projectsTravel up to 25%US Citizenship.Selected applicant will be subject to a government securityinvestigation and must meet the eligibility requirements foraccess to classified information.Preferred qualifications:Active DoD Clearance.Skill Set desired:Strong experience in IT program / project management,including a strong track record of successfully deliveringlarge, complex programs consisting of multiple interrelatedprojects that span across locations and/or functions. ERP,Oracle e-Business Suite or other Cloud Solution, Sales Forcewith concentration in Human Resources, Business Development andManufacturing and Services organization is a plusUnderstanding of Human Capital Management Systems, HRIS, andSelf Service and Business DevelopmentStrong business acumen, including industry, domain-specificknowledge of the enterprise and its business units. Familiaritywith industry trends and innovation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, includingthe ability to capture and explain goals and objectives tobusiness as well as technical leadership.Excellent analytical, collaboration and facilitation skills.Effective influencing and negotiation experience and skills inan environment with high competition for resources betweenbusiness units.Possesses a high degree of political sensitivity, astutenessand the ability to effectively use the informal power structureof the organization to best represent the business unit.Highly empathetic and able to apply different engagementstyles to match the needs of a variety of business stakeholders,as well as temperaments and personalities.Familiarity with the use of reporting tools to monitoractivities and analyze project performance.Familiarity with one or more project/program managementmethodologies (such as PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile and MSP),ideally across a range of projects.Security:All applicants must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Person as defined byITAR (a lawful permanent resident or someone who is a protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)).
