• Work as a member of a large multi-functional (hardware, software, electrical, mechanical) R&D team in our Respiratory
• Interventions business, in the software design and development of embedded software for Medtronic's line of Respiratory Care Products.
• Provides technical leadership to teams - Takes a leadership role in architecture, design, development & release as they pertain to software designs.
• Responsible for software designs and work products on projects.
• Implements software in accordance with defined development procedures. Participates in requirements analysis/ development.
• Mentors software developers and provides technical guidance as necessary.
• Works with management and development teams to establish best practices.
• Works with management to develop and maintain the software group's technology roadmap. Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
    Nice to Have
    • Exceptionally qualified candidates will have a BSEE/CS or equivalent with 12+ years of experience with embedded system software design and 5+ yrs. experience developing software in a regulated industry such as medical, aerospace, defense, nuclear, etc.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with C/C++ required.
    • Experience in embedded, real-time applications required.
    • Experience in hardware/software interfacing and design issues required.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills required
    • Knowledge of OOA&D and familiarity with UML is strongly desired.
    • Candidate should be knowledgeable and have a demonstrated experience in software engineering processes and multiple product life cycles.
    • Candidate should have worked on successful product lines that have a 5+ years history in the marketplace (preferably international).
    • Requirement tracing tools such as DOORS or Requisite Pro--
    • Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships cross-functionally
